Testing PureVPN For World of Warcraft
PureVPN allows you to play World of Warcraft on its servers. Is PureVPN the best VPN for WoW? I selected the ‘internet freedom’ mode and a country. Then I started a new World of Warcraft account.
During my test, I played World of Warcraft on several servers. The servers included Japan, Canada, Argentina, and the United States. Japan is the server I tried first. World of Warcraft believed I was in Japan. When I logged into the game I only saw servers from Asia. I choose a random server and logged into the game.
Testing PureVPN continued.
I created a human hunter. It was about 2:00 am in Japan when I started playing. Seeing a server be so empty felt strange because it was daytime for me. It was also the first time I’ve seen other players with character names I was unable to read. The playthrough went smoothly, but I did have to wait longer for loading screens. PureVPN did cause my game to have a tiny bit of lag, but it wasn’t bad. I logged out of WoW and changed the VPN server to other countries. World of Warcraft still believed I was playing in Japan.
General Impressions
Besides trying to decide if PureVPN is the best VPN for WoW, I also tried other things. So I tested Netflix on PureVPN. I accessed Netflix on Streaming and on Internet freedom. Both times I received a message from Netflix that I couldn’t use their services because I had a proxy.
There were no major issues on social media websites like Twitter or Facebook. The server moved quickly. When I logged into my Amazon account the screen only showed me words. So I went back into the PureVPN admin panel and changed the country from Argentina to Canada. My Amazon account worked just fine after that.
Youtube worked fine on PureVPN’s servers. The videos didn’t have any lag. I didn’t have a chance to see if PureVPN is the best VPN for torrents. My trial was short so I didn’t get to try file-sharing or dedicated IP.
General Impressions: Update on Netflix (May 2020)
PureVPN has done some updates regarding streaming services since I tested it. There are now 10 Netflix regional libraries including the US, UK, DE, FR, JP, CA, AU, PL, CZ, and GR. Although I didn’t get to see if PureVPN is the best VPN for torrents I still got to play World of Warcraft. The game worked smoothly on PureVPN’s servers. There were a few times where I had to wait a little longer for loading. PureVPN got the job done though. The service is good if you want to play WoW in a different time zone. I could see a player who has to play the game at night, choosing a server located in a different part of the world. It was exciting to play on a World of Warcraft server so unique from my own.
