When I opened my Blue Yeti X World of Warcraft edition microphone I was impressed with its weight. The microphone felt expensive and it was nice to hold. Blue and gold colors adorn the microphone giving it a classy look. As a World of Warcraft fan seeing the logo on the microphone got me excited.
I couldn’t wait to try the special voices and sounds. The main issue I noticed was the lack of instructions. I figured that I needed to visit the official website to download the program for the microphone. Unless you paid attention to the box there wasn’t much in the way of instructions.
It didn’t take me long to install the program and hook up the microphone to my computer. The microphone didn’t work at first. So I had to Google what I was doing wrong. On my computer, I had to make the Blue Yeti X World of Warcraft edition my default mic. Once I changed the setting then the microphone was working.
Then I ran into another snag. The microphone made loud noises. Eventually, I figured out how to stop the sound. I had to restart my computer and everything was working fine. Installed were several different special options. There were so many that it took me a while to test them all. I started by playing with changing my voice to sound like World of Warcraft characters.

The first voice I tested was the Lich King. Sadly, the Lich King voice sounded nothing like the character in the game. Despite my disappointment, I continued to try the other voices. The voices that sounded the best were Blingtron and gnome. Blingtron had my brothers and me laughing.
Next, I tested the pre-installed character voices. The microphone features the voices of Thrall, Banshee Queen Sylvanas Windrunner, Lord Admiral Jaina Proudmore, and Highlord Bolvar Fordragon. Each character’s voice is available in several languages. It was certainly interesting to hear what Sylvanas sounded like in Spanish.
Besides the pre-recorded voices there were also sounds. These sounds are what you hear in the game. Examples included the sound of casting a spell or teleporting to a location with a hearthstone and more. Both the pre-installed character voices and sounds could be fun for streamers. Especially for streamers who enjoy adding sound effects to their show.

The Blue Yeti X World of Warcraft microphone is worth it. As a regular microphone, you had many options to alter your voice. You could sound warm or cold. There were also options to sound like a radio. Several slider options allowed you to change the tone of your voice. The possibilities were endless. If you’re a streamer the microphone is great to have. The Blue Yeti X World of Warcraft microphone would also make a fantastic gift.
Be sure to download the program from the Blue Microphone website. Without the program, you can’t adjust your microphone the way you want. You’d also be missing out on the special options and features. Playing with the voice-changing setting alone is a lot of fun. Blingtron was the funniest one. Your gaming set-up will look epic with this microphone. Imagine having this awesome mic beside your RGB lighting keyboard and mouse.
