World Of Warcraft Holidays

World of Warcraft holidays is so wholesome. Every Christmas morning fans from all over the world log into WoW and wait with anticipation to open their presents from Greatfather Winter. The event is unofficial and is a heartwarming tradition. Alliance players wait in Ironforge, and Horde players wait in Orgrimmar.

Generally, presents should be available to open by noon PST. There are six presents underneath the Christmas tree. Each gift pops up with a quest floating above. Every year there are two new gifts underneath the tree. For players who don’t open their gifts on Christmas, they have until the end of Winter Veil (the in-game Christmas event) to open their presents.

The WoW fandom has always been fun and goofy. Playing WoW already brings out the child in us, and it’s no surprise that Christmas in WoW brings it out more. It’s moments like these that make me proud to be a WoW player and fan. The WoW fandom is truly a global family and unofficial events like these help to bring us closer.

What Is The Feast Of Winter Veil?

alt="world of warcraft holiday fun"/>

Greatfather Winter (or Great-father Winter for Horde) is the World of Warcraft holidays version of Santa Claus. Each year Winter Veil begins in mid-December.

Horde players can grab the holiday quests in Orgrimmar, and Alliance players can get them in Ironforge. Greatfather Winter is located near the Christmas tree. He’s a dwarf for Alliance and an Orc for Horde.

Winter Veil gives players several quests to complete. One quest is to save Metzen the Reindeer from the Abominable Greench. Metzen the Reindeer is named after Chris Metzen who is the voice of Thrall. There are also quests to bring cookies to Greatfather Winter.

The lovable bird Pepe was in this year’s event. He’s hanging out on the Smokywood Pastures cart in both Ironforge and Orgrimmar. Be sure to right-click on Pepe so you can gain a cute little friend. You can also fly around in the snow globe, or hop into Greatfather Winter’s sleigh for a joyful trip around town.

Every holiday event also has achievements to earn. So don’t forget to check out your achievements and search for “Winter Veil” underneath the “holidays” tab on the left side of the achievements list.

How To Join In The Holiday Fun

During the Feast of Winter Veil, you can craft or obtain a holiday outfit. Basically, it’s a Santa Claus outfit in either red or green. You can also add festive holly to your mounts to turn it into a reindeer.

World of Warcraft holidays is abundant with holiday cheer. Players also exchange gifts with each other. Great in-game gift ideas include battle pets and toys. So it’s a great time to show love and appreciation for your guild members and friends.

New Year’s Eve is also acknowledged in WoW. Every hour on the evening of New Year’s Eve is marked by fireworks in Stormwind and Orgrimmar. Be sure to grab some sparkling cider and experience the countdown with your fellow WoW nerds.

Throughout the Feast of Winter Veil, you can also purchase holiday food and treats from Smokywood Pastures. They sell holiday cheese wheels and fruit cake.

Also, during the World of Warcraft holidays event bosses in dungeons, raids, and Torghast wear Santa hats.

World Of Warcraft Holidays Unofficial Tradition

If you’d like to join in the fun on Christmas each year then be sure to log into the game before noon PST. Alliance players should head to Ironforge. There’s a Christmas tree in front of the bank. Horde players should head to Orgrimmar. There is a Christmas tree in the Valley of Strength.

Players find unique ways to pass the time while we wait. Many players bring out toys. Some players will sit on their mounts. Others will chit-chat in Trade or General chat. They’ll also dress in festive attire.

Excitement is high as we wait to open our gifts.  Opening the presents is met with laughter and frustration as everyone bombards the Christmas tree at once.

The chaos is part of the fun because we can’t see anything for about five minutes. Once everyone opens their gifts then the crowd leaves. Within ten to fifteen minutes everything has gone back to normal, and you’re left with a feeling of warmth as you hopefully plan to participate next year.

Christmas morning is one of the finest examples of WoW’s community. Our fandom isn’t only defined by grinding for a high item level, or reputation. We’re also silly and fun. World of Warcraft holidays wouldn’t be so joyous if fans didn’t know to kick back and enjoy the moment.
