    What Does The Best Gaming Computer Need?

    The computer needs to have enough ram. This ensures that your computer can play your games while allowing you to surf the web too. A gaming computer also needs a good graphics card. A decent graphics card is about 4GB and should be able to display your game in 1080p.

    Gaming computers also need a strong processor. If there is too much strain on the CPU, then your computer may struggle and overheat. A gaming computer should be able to display your game, even if you’re in a raid or battleground with a lot of graphic effects.

    Some computers are VR ready and others are not. You may want to consider buying a computer which is future proof. Games are becoming technologically advanced at a rapid rate, so you want to be prepared for whatever specs you’ll need.

    You’ll want a good gaming mouse to go with your new computer. Some companies don’t send you a mouse and keyboard, and others will give you a cheap option. You can synchronize your keyboard and mouse with your computer for a cool-looking setup.

    Cybersecurity is crucial especially when playing your favorite games like World of Warcraft. Check out Pure VPN and their top-of-the-line security services. Feel free to learn more by reading Will Using A VPN For WoW Get You Banned?

    Important Terms to Understand Before Buying The Best Gaming PC

    When purchasing a gaming PC it’s important to know what the best specs are. You’ll have to factor in your budget too, but maybe you can cut corners without sacrificing quality. It really comes down to what you’re looking for in a gaming PC.

    No two computers are exactly the same, and no two gamers are the same either. I primarily play World of Warcraft on my computer, but maybe you play other games besides WoW, and you have to factor that into your decision. No matter what you choose you just want to be happy with your choice for a few years.

    Technology is always advancing and it’s good to choose a computer which is future-proof. Blizzard updates World of Warcraft’s graphics with each expansion, and you wouldn’t want to buy a gaming computer that won’t work in a couple of years.

    So be sure you choose a computer with the most current parts so you don’t have to sweat it. Remember, WoW Classic doesn’t require as many specs as retail WoW, so if you’re mostly going to play Classic, you might not have to worry about having as high of a graphics card.

    Ram

    alt="what is the best gaming pc for world of warcraft"/>

    Ram is important because your gaming PC can access the game’s data there. Without Ram, your game may not run smoothly. 4GB of Ram is what most companies consider standard. It’s a good idea to get more than the recommended amount of Ram. Try and go for about 8GB and you should be fine. The best Ram to have is 16GB, and anything over that is probably too much.

    Processor (CPU)

    Now, besides the Ram, you also need a decent processor. Ram allows your computer to read the game data, but the processor determines how fast the data can be read. We refer to the processor as the CPU. Imagine the CPU as the brain of your computer. If the ‘brain’ moves slowly it can cause your gaming experience to be terrible. The processor works with your clock speed for a good performance. You want at least an i5 processor for a solid gaming PC, but i7 is much better.

    Clock Speed

    The clock speed determines how fast the processor can interpret instructions. We measure clock speed in GHz. If the number is high then you have a good clock speed. The faster clock speed can make your user experience feel effortless. Clock Speeds of 3.5 GHz to 4.0 GHz is a good number for gaming.

    What Is The Best Gaming PC For World Of Warcraft?

    Motherboard (MOBO)

    alt="what is the best gaming pc for world of warcraft"/>

    The motherboard is where your graphics card and CPU are located. If your motherboard crashes so does your computer. You don’t want a motherboard that’s too cheap whether you’re building a PC, or buying one already made. A motherboard keeps your system stable, and you don’t want your computer to crash. Motherboards can give you extra USB ports and slots. They provide water cooling and overclocking. WiFi and Bluetooth support may also be included in the motherboard. It’s also where you’ll find the memory, power, and system reboot functions.

    Graphics Card (GPU)

    alt="what is the best gaming pc for WoW"/>

    The graphics processing unit is what displays your game as a picture on your screen. If you have a powerful graphics card then the images can be displayed faster. Your graphics card is so important because it determines how well your game looks. You need to determine if you want to play your games in crystal clear 4k. Not every computer game requires the same specs, so you may not always need the most expensive graphics card. It’s going to depend on your wants and needs when it comes to the games you play. Feel free to check out NVIDIA as a great place to begin your search for the perfect graphics card.

    Overclocking

    When you overclock something you’re forcing it to perform better than the factory settings.  For the CPU it would be the clock speed. Just about anything in your system can be overclocked. The average gamer doesn’t need to worry about overclocking their gaming PC. If you’re not used to buying gaming computers or building one yourself, it’s probably best if you don’t try and overclock the system.

    Why Does World Of Warcraft Need The Best Gaming PC?

    World of Warcraft is a gorgeous game. The world of Azeroth has so many amazing places to explore. Every fan probably has their favorite areas to check out. The right gaming pc should allow you to view the world in exquisite detail. This is why you’ll need the perfect gaming monitor. A gaming pc is only half the package. A gaming setup should include a graphics card too. If you’re replacing an old graphics card you’ll want to check out NVIDIA to see what you can do. Your games can’t be viewed properly until you get the entire setup.

    Why A Good Gaming PC Also Also Needs A Monitor

    A gaming monitor can come in three different types. These include TN, IPS, and VA. The type of monitor determines how color and light are displayed. Most gamers choose TN panels because of their affordability. Professional gamers especially rely on TN panels because of their speed. The IPS and VA panels are too risky in a competitive environment. For the average gamer, it really comes down to personal preference because every gamer’s needs aren’t the same. World of Warcraft may not be the only game that you play. Also, if you’re a content creator you might need an IPS panel in order to edit video and photos. You may also be sensitive to different kinds of lighting. It’s not only speed you must consider. So only you can determine what your needs are and how they’re going to be met.

    Gaming monitors also have different refresh rates. A 60Hz refresh rate is standard, but you’ll notice a difference at 120Hz and above. A 240Hz monitor probably won’t look much different from a 144Hz monitor though. The refresh rate is the number of times per second a display refreshes on screen. The higher the hertz than the more times per second it’ll refresh, but having a monitor with a higher refresh rate doesn’t always equal a smoother image. You must always factor in the frame rate too. The frame rate is the number of video frames sent to the display per second. The refresh rate is important for games. So you’ll want to consider this when choosing a monitor.

    What is the Best Gaming PC for World of Warcraft?

    So, what is the best gaming PC for World of Warcraft, well t’s going to depend on your needs. You’ll want to factor in your budget before you think of the specs. Computers are a serious investment and you want to be sure that you’re making the right choice. Be sure to check out the best gaming monitor for WoW and the best gaming speakers for World of Warcraft. If you’re looking for something more portable, then please check out the best gaming laptop for WoW. And, what are the must-have TVs for gaming on our sister site.

    AAA game titles deserve to be played in the best graphics a gamer can buy. You’ll be so happy with your purchase, that you’ll be playing your games more often.

    Be sure whatever computer you choose is future-proof, especially because World of Warcraft updates its graphics with each new expansion. You’ll want to purchase a PC that you’ll be good for a few years.

    Most gaming computers feature synchronized lighting effects. You can pair the lighting with a keyboard and mouse. An epic gaming setup is the ultimate dream and would get anyone excited to play a game.

    You don’t need to purchase a computer with the most expensive motherboard. A motherboard’s function is to hold more slots for memory. As long as it’s decent you should be fine.

    World Of Warcraft Arthas Helm Of Domination Blizzard Exclusive

    World of Warcraft Arthas Helm of Domination Blizzard exclusive replica is debuting at BlizzConline. In honor of Blizzard Entertainment’s 30th anniversary, the company has created this stunning replica of the Lich King’s helm.

    The helm will be available exclusively on the Blizzard Gear Store starting February 19th at 3 PM PST. At over 15 inches in height (nearly 17 inches in stand). The replica brings to life one of Warcraft’s most famous and powerful artifacts.

    Forged according to the Jailer’s will, the Helm of Domination was to be the vessel of Death’s influence on Azeroth. The orc chieftain Ner’zhul was imprisoned by the Nathrezim within the helm, and it granted him command over a vast army of undead Scourge. The fallen Prince Arthas Menethil freed the Helm from the Frozen Throne, and donned the helm, taking up the mantle of the Lich King.

  • Is World Of Warcraft Good For Solo Players?

    Is World Of Warcraft Good For Solo Players?

    Is World Of Warcraft Good For Solo Players? World of Warcraft is an MMORPG which means it’s a mass-multiplayer online role-playing game. A new player may not have any friends to play the game with. And, a returning player might notice that all of their friends have left the game.

    The great thing about the modern (retail) World of Warcraft is the flexibility. Anyone who takes a dip into Classic WoW will notice that community matters. Sure you can play Classic WoW by yourself, but it’s going to be difficult if you’re not an experienced player. Classic WoW is a recreation of the original vanilla World of Warcraft.

    When you play Classic WoW you’re entering a more dangerous version of Azeroth. Raiding in Classic WoW must be done with people from your server. There’s no looking for Raid (LFR) like there is in the modern game. Modern World of Warcraft is the perfect game to play solo. This doesn’t mean that you never participate in group content, but you will join in when you feel the need. Many WoW veterans don’t consider solo players a part of the larger WoW community. There are a ton of misconceptions about solo players that lead to this way of thinking.

    Let’s talk about playing WoW solo and why you shouldn’t feel guilty if you do.

    Is World Of Warcraft Good For Solo Players?

    Reasons To Play Solo

    alt="is world of warcraft good for solo players"/>

    1. You want to
    2. The story
    3. All of your friends have stopped playing
    4. Real-life schedule and commitments
    5. Slow reaction times make raiding or PvP difficult
    6. You’re a new player
    7. Personal reasons not listed here

    1. You Want To

    alt="is world of warcraft good for solo players"/>

    Let’s start with the best reason listed above. You want to. Playing a video game is meant to be enjoyable. We all know there are people out there who’ll judge our favorite past times. Video games don’t rot your brain and make you an anti-social outcast. Most gamers are very social and incredibly intelligent.

    Video games require us to use critical thinking skills. Dungeons are laid out like a puzzle. They may have deadly traps, and murderous scoundrels hiding inside. Playing any video game will test your mettle. World of Warcraft offers a unique challenge. As a solo player, you’re required to learn more survival skills. It’ll also give you time to focus on your professions. You could also try role-playing.

    Azeroth is a treacherous place, and survival isn’t guaranteed. Well, as a solo player you can increase your skills and learn to slay the most fearsome beasts. Exceptions include world bosses, raid encounters, battlegrounds, and dungeons. WoW has a Looking For Raid (LFR), and a Looking For Group (LFG) function. If you’ve never used it, you’ll find an eyeball in the bottom right of your screen. It’s in the same row of buttons as your character profile.

    Playing solo can be a rewarding choice. True mastery of your class involves spending a lot of time practicing.

    World of Warcraft is hard to master. Check out Zygor Guides, LLC for expert help.

    2. The Story

    alt="is world of warcraft good for solo players"/>

    The next reason to play solo is the story. Azeroth is rich with history. Some of my favorite moments in-game involve finding books, historical artifacts, and easter eggs. Solo play allows you to play at your own pace. You actually have time to stop and smell the roses.

    Azeroth has many hidden secrets to uncover. One of the most well known involves the Ruins of Lordaeron. If you turn down the music and turn up the ambient sounds you can hear a chilling haunting. The day Prince Arthas Menethil returned to Lordaeron and murdered his father still haunts the ruins.

    You’re able to hear the bells tolling as they welcomed the prince home. Then if you stand in the throne room you can hear ghostly echos of Arthas and his father King Terenas right before his son murdered him.

    World of Warcraft is chock full of awesome surprises, stories, easter eggs, memorials, and callbacks. You could spend weeks searching for epic tales. Playing solo means you have the chance to look for those things without pressure. Most players are focused on raiding or battlegrounds. You can still participate in those too, but you don’t have to feel rushed.

    Azeroth is rich with history. Epic tales feature the rise of kingdoms and the fall of darkness. Check out World of Warcraft: Ultimate Visual Guide for an easy to digest dive into Azeroth’s rich world on Amazon.com.

     3. All Of Your Friends Have Stopped Playing

    alt="is wow good for solo players"/>

    Is World Of Warcraft Good For Solo Players? Now we’ve reached the reason why I play alone. Returning players may be able to relate. World of Warcraft has been online for 16 years.

    I began playing WoW as a teenager during the Wrath of the Lich King (WotLK) expansion. At the time, I was blessed to have my godmother. She introduced me to her guild. The guild was small and felt like family. They took me under their wing and taught me how to play.

    Over the years, I’ve joined many guilds. I’ve been in guilds with close friends and served as an officer. Also, I’ve run two guilds myself. During my adventures in Azeroth, I’ve also made many game buddies along the way.

    During the Warlords of Draenor (WoD) expansion, I stopped playing WoW for a year. It’s the longest time I’ve gone without logging into the game. WoD wasn’t the best expansion, and many players left the game. When I returned to WoW during Legion, I was saddened to see that all of my old friends were gone.

    All Of Your Friends Stopped Playing Cont.

    alt="WoW solo player"/>

    Guilds I had joined and run had both died. I played Legion for months and none of my old friends returned. I’m sure you’re wondering why I didn’t join a new guild. Honestly, my life had changed. My grandmother was diagnosed with cancer. Around the same time, I was diagnosed with depression.

    Making friends in-game became difficult, but I’ve continued to play WoW. The world of Azeroth is enchanting all on its own. I’m enjoying playing the game solo.

    Returning players can relate to no longer seeing old friends in Azeroth.

    4. Real-Life Schedule And Commitments

    alt="wow solo"/>

    Real-life schedules and commitments can make group content difficult. Guilds have a set day and time they raid. You might work a job with 12-hour shifts, or maybe you just had a new baby. Regardless of the reasons, everyone’s life isn’t the same. Participating in Mythics could be hard when you can’t invest enough time to gear your character.

    WoW fans will tell you that not playing often enough means you’re not dedicated to the game. When other players utter those words it makes WoW sound like a job rather than a fun pastime or hobby. Being busy in real-life doesn’t make you a bad player. Learning how to play the game correctly involves practice.

    Once you can play your class effectively it doesn’t matter how often you play. Mastering World of Warcraft isn’t about the quantity but the quality of your game time. If your game time is short but it’s well spent then you’re fulfilled. If you’re playing for the story LFR ensures you’ll be able to defeat the bosses and watch the cutscenes.

    Real-Life Schedule And Commitments Cont.

    alt="is world of warcraft good for solo players"/>

    Also, some guilds are understanding. There are guilds out there with flexible raiding schedules. If raiding is something you want to do, but you’re worried about having time to participate, then you should search for an understanding guild.

    You can find guilds recruiting in Trade Chat. Sometimes guilds will send out random invites to players. As long as you don’t have guild invites turned off in settings you’ll receive it. Some guilds will recruit on the World of Warcraft forums. Other guilds may say they’re recruiting in Facebook groups or Reddit. Just make sure that the guild is on your server, the correct faction, and the same region.

    If you end up in a toxic guild it’s easy to leave. Just type /gquit in the chat panel and press enter.

    5. Slow Reaction Times Make Raiding Or PvP Difficult

    alt="shadowlands solo"/>

    World of Warcraft is home to players from all walks of life. So it’s not a surprise that elderly players or those with disabilities play the game. Reaction times are important in dangerous encounters. Attacking too slowly will lower your damage per second (DPS).

    Raiding and PvP require you to attack quickly. There are ways to get around certain limitations by using key binds, addons, or a console controller. But, playing the game with a controller might slow down your reactions further.

    Having a slow reaction time can be frustrating. Especially if you enjoy group content. I have a hand injury and my reactions aren’t what they used to be. Queueing for LFR has been a fantastic way for me to view the current content. Don’t feel ashamed if your reaction times aren’t what they used to be. If you need to play with a guild or group there are always kind and understanding players in the game.

    I’d suggest you join a good guild. They’ll be understanding about your limitations. You wouldn’t have to be concerned about being left out of the fun. Playing WoW isn’t just about min-maxing your stats. If you’re not enjoying the game then what’s the point of playing?

    Feel comfortable playing solo. Playing with a guild is fun too. It’s worth the effort to find a guild home where you feel safe. But, until you find that special place, don’t feel ashamed for being a solo player.

    6. You’re A New Player

    alt="wow shadowlands solo"/>

    Is World Of Warcraft Good For Solo Players? Being a new player is exhilarating. I’ll never forget the first time I logged into the game. Azeroth was gigantic and full of secrets to uncover. I was lucky to have friends to show me around and teach me how to play. Not every new player has a group of friends who already play the game. Joining a guild can give you peace of mind, but as a new player, you won’t know which guilds are best.

    The WoW fandom can also be toxic to new players. Making a mistake in a dungeon, or asking a question in Trade Chat can lead to disaster. Some players forget how difficult the game was when they were new. World of Warcraft has many power systems, armor, and countless content. A new player can become easily overwhelmed trying to learn how to play their class.

    You’re A New Player Continued

    alt="WoW solo"/>

    Asking another player for help is scary. They may mock or kick you from groups. As a new player, choosing to play the game solo is perfectly fine. Take your time to learn how the game works. Mean players shouldn’t stop you from trying. Being a solo player doesn’t mean you’re not part of the WoW community.

    The WoW community comprises millions of diverse individuals worldwide. We don’t all play the game the same, but we all pay a monthly subscription fee. That fee means we all have a right to share the same virtual space. So, while you’re a new player take your time and enjoy the game. Most veteran players aren’t going to look around the game and marvel at the Dark Portal or the Frozen Throne. Veteran players have already seen the wonders of the game. Some veteran players have forgotten what makes Azeroth magic.

    Reason To Play Solo Cont.
    7. Personal Reasons Not Listed Here

    alt="solo"/>

    Everyone has personal reasons not listed here for why they play solo. You don’t owe anyone an explanation. Some WoW players play the game to do pet battles or collect mounts. How you spend your monthly fee is up to you.

    Modern WoW is also solo player-friendly. The main story campaign revolves around your character. Our playable characters make appearances in important cutscenes. We’re trusted by the leaders of Azeroth, and we’ve saved Azeroth countless times.

    I choose to play solo. Playing with others is incredibly fun. But, I miss playing with my old friends. Also, this blog keeps me busy. Running a website is rewarding work, but the technical part of owning a website takes time. So, not being on a raid team or in an active guild works for me. I don’t have the pressure of needing to be active. Sometimes guilds will kick you out if you haven’t logged in for a while.

  • Is World Of Warcraft Overwhelming?

    Is World Of Warcraft Overwhelming?

    Is World Of Warcraft Overwhelming? Against overwhelming odds, World of Warcraft is an MMORPG (mass-multiplayer online role-playing game). These kinds of video games are packed with content. If you’re a returning WoW veteran be aware the PC game has changed. For new players, you might wonder how to keep up with all of the experienced players. As I’ve been gearing up my Hunter, it occurred to me that new or returning players might be feeling overwhelmed.

    Every expansion (about every two years) Blizzard Entertainment rewrites the rules of the game. All players begin on equal footing. We must level our characters and gear (armor) them for raiding and PvP (player vs. player combat). Each expansion has different patches. A patch is the core content that lasts about three-ish months like a mini-reset of the game. Don’t worry if you start playing during the middle of an expansion. World of Warcraft is more forgiving than it was in the past.

    There are “catch up” game mechanics. These allow you to participate in end-game content sooner. Returning players should be fine. Jumping back into WoW is almost like riding a bike. New players need to pace themselves. If you’re stressing about keeping up then you’re not enjoying the game.

    Let’s talk about how World of Warcraft can be overwhelming, and how to enjoy it.

    Is World Of Warcraft Overwhelming?

    Why Is The Game Hard?

    alt="is world of warcraft overwhelming"/>

    Every WoW player has a life outside of the game. We all have jobs, family, and friends. Finding a way to juggle against overwhelming odds in World of Warcraft, and balancing your other obligations is hard.

    Many can relate to being in a raid group and the doorbell rings. Even more complicated is when the baby starts crying during a boss fight. A sympathetic guild is a must.

    Also, a lot of WoW players are competitive. They compare their item level and achievements. Running Mythic dungeons and raids is all they talk about. Mythics are the hardest content in the game.

    Why is The Game Hard Continued

    alt="against overwhelming odds WoW"/>

    So, it’s crucial that your item level is high, and that you know how to play your class. But, playing your class well takes practice. So how do you measure up to your fellow players?

    Focus on having fun.

    World of Warcraft is a video game. The game exists for us to play during times of leisure. You don’t owe anyone an explanation for why your item level is three points too low. Having fun is the ultimate goal when playing the game. So once the game begins to feel like a chore then you must take a step back.

    Never let another player make you feel guilty for taking a few days or weeks off. We’re all paying a monthly fee to access the WoW servers. As long as you’re not harming other players or keeping them from achieving their goals within the game, then how you play the game is up to you.

     Zygor has created one of the best WoW guides online. Check out Zygor Guides. The comprehensive guide answers all of your important game-related questions.

    What Do You Focus On First?

    1. Leveling
    2. Dungeons/Raids (LFR)/World Quests
    3. Learning New Power Systems
    Leveling

    alt="is wow overwhelming/>

    Is World of Warcraft overwhelming? You’re only up against overwhelming odds if you’re rushing to the end game content. Returning players should be aware that leveling and gearing is a must. But, if you’re a new player you probably don’t know where to start.

    Leveling in an MMORPG isn’t the same as leveling on your average Playstation or Xbox game. Killing enemies does award experience points, but you always want to focus on questing in MMO’s.

    Quests will grant you thousands of experience points. World of Warcraft has a new leveling system now. So leveling is quick and fun.

    Leveling Continued

    alt="leveling"/>

    There are always players leveling new characters in the game world. You’ll rarely be alone. Playing late at night, or on a low populated server has times when the game world feels empty. World of Warcraft has millions of players and there is always someone online.

    Hitting level cap is the first step. Leveling in the game gives your character stronger abilities. Every expansion level cap usually changes. Shadowlands is the first expansion where the game had a level squish. The level cap was lowered to 60.

    Level cap just means you’ve hit the game’s highest available level for your character. The end game is what we call the “end of the game”. This is when you finally reach 60 (or whatever the current level cap is) and it’s time to do high-level content.

    Get started on World of Warcraft’s epic story and check out Warcraft – World of Warcraft 5 Book Collection by Christie Golden available on Amazon.com.

    What Do You Focus On First Continued

    alt="is world of warcraft overwhelming"/>

    Technically, games like WoW don’t end. An MMORPG is a living and breathing digital world. Throughout an expansion not only do you level and gear, but the game world’s story changes around you.

    Heroes and villains shift positions, and kingdoms may rise or fall. Part of the fun is experiencing the game world as it changes. Your character’s part in the storyline influences those changes and it’s awesome.

    Utilize resources like Zygor Guides, Wowhead, and Youtube to learn how to play your character. World of Warcraft themed websites and content creators offer the most valuable and current information for the game.

    These resources will explain which specialization is good for your class. They’ll also suggest the best talents, rotation, and gear. Those suggestions increase your damage per second (DPS). Damage per second is important because this determines how quickly your character can defeat an enemy.

    Don’t worry about your gear (armor) until you’ve hit the level cap. During the leveling process, you’re going to change your armor often. The game fundamentally changes once you hit level cap because now you’ve entered the end game.

    Dungeons, LFR, And World Quests

    alt="item level example"/>
    Item Level Is Circled In Character Window

    Focus on gearing after you hit the level cap. Every expansion introduces new systems for our characters to gain power. These systems can be overwhelming to a new or returning player.

    Start easy by running dungeons. Bosses in dungeons drop loot. The armor is usually a higher item level than what you’re wearing. Be sure to equip the armor appropriate for your class and specialization. To find out your item level, and to equip a piece of armor, be sure to click on the “character profile” at the bottom right of your screen.

    In about a week, you should be able to run heroic dungeons. Once you can run heroics then focus on those. After about a week, then you should be able to queue for Looking For Raid (LFR). By running raids in LFR, then you can bring your item level higher. Loot in a raid is usually purple. The color of the armor determines its durability.

    Armor with purple letters has higher durability. You want all of your gear to be purple. Orange armor is legendary. Every expansion changes the rules on how to acquire a legendary item. Legendary armor has the best stats and highest durability, but these armor pieces are challenging to obtain.

    World Quests also offer armor rewards. On the in-game mini-map, you can place your cursor over the World Quest circles. This will pop up a box that will show you what the quest reward will be. If it’s a piece of gear you can use then it’s worth doing the World Quest. Don’t forget that World Quests also reward conduits.

    New Power Systems

    alt="night fae covenant"/>

    Running dungeons and LFR will get you started gearing. So your character should be able to survive longer in fights. But, you might not feel as powerful yet. Fixing this problem depends on the expansion in question. Currently, World of Warcraft is in the midst of the Shadowlands expansion.

    Against overwhelming odds in World of Warcraft: Shadowlands, several new systems have been introduced. These systems come with your Covenant. Covenants give you access to Soul Binds and Conduits which increase your power.

    Soul Binds is a special connection that you form with Non-player characters (NPCs) from your Covenant. You obtain Conduits from doing World Quests, Dailies, and boss fights. Conduits are hooked into the Soul Bind at your Covenant’s Forge of Bonds. This allows you to have new abilities and passive effects that help your character.

    We also have to run Torghast, the Tower of the Damned, to earn Soul Ash. Soul Ash helps you craft legendary armor pieces. And, we also run dailies in the Maw.

    New Power Systems Continued

    alt="dragon"/>

    Don’t panic yet! I’m going to tell you how I play the game. Now, I’m not currently on a raid team, but I’ve been on a raid team before. Gearing in time for your guild’s raid night can be tough, especially if you’re gearing alone.

    Some guilds will gear up together, but don’t rely on that. Everyone playing WoW is busy with other obligations so it’s important that you understand how to gear up by yourself.

    I focus on one task each day I log into the game. So I divide my time. I don’t play WoW every day, but I log in about 2 to 3 times a week. My playtime is for about two hours, but sometimes it’s more. Some days I run instances (dungeons or raids). Other days I work only on my Covenant. Then there are days where I visit the Maw and Torghast.

    As an experienced player, it’s not uncommon for me to queue for a dungeon or raid while I work on my Covenant or the Maw. Dungeon or LFR queues can be anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour. You can queue for heroics and several LFR’s at once. Bosses in LFR are looted once a week on each difficulty, with the server reset happening on Tuesday. But, if you’re feeling overwhelmed focus on one task at a time.

    New Power Systems Continued

    Covenants

    alt="night fae"/>

    There are four Covenants in Shadowlands. The covenants are Venthyr, Kyrian, Night Fae, or Necrolords. Each covenant offers different powers and rewards.

    To make things easier, we’re going to narrow down your Covenant decision to two factors. Then choose which choice is most important to you.

    1. Power
    2. Story

    Against overwhelming odds, your first concern is power. If you’re on a raid team, or if you participate in PvP (player vs. player), then power is important. You’ll want to look up which Covenant is best for your class and specialization.

    Your second concern is the story. Each Covenant has its own story which ties into the main storyline. So your perception of the expansion’s events will be shaped by the Covenant you choose.

    Covenants Continued

    alt="dungeon"/>

    Is World of Warcraft overwhelming? Not if you focus on one thing at a time. My main focus for playing World of Warcraft is the story. So I chose my Covenant based on which story interested me.

    Also, my main character is a Hunter and I chose a Covenant that made sense thematically for my class. My Hunter is in the Night Fae Covenant in Ardenweald.

    My alts (alternate characters) will be joining the other three Covenants. Not everyone has time to play their alts. The game does give you the option to change Covenants, but it comes at a steep cost. We have to earn Renown for each Covenant we join.

    Renown is like another type of reputation (rep) in the game. You need Renown to move forward in your Covenant’s main plotline. Against overwhelming odds in World of Warcraft, each Covenant provides new Soul Binds and Conduits. This could make your character stronger or weaker. But, if you’re only interested in the story and you’re not on a raid team or participating in PvP, then feel free to consider transferring your character to each Covenant.

    What is against overwhelming odds in World of Warcraft?

    The Maw And Torghast

    alt="is world of warcraft overwhelming"/>

    The Maw is arguably the hardest zone in World of Warcraft. This is where the Jailer lives. Despite the overwhelming odds in World of Warcraft, your goal is to help out the broker Ve’nari. Each daily quest she gives you awards Stygia. The Stygia allows you to buy items from Ve’nari. These items can help you in the Maw or Torghast.

    All Covenants send players to the Maw to save souls. Usually, I head to the Maw while I’m working on that quest. My goal is to complete as much stuff in the Maw as I can. You want to get in and get out fast.

    Torghast is an endless tower. The tower gives our characters Anima power. These powers are temporary and are only used within Torghast. Completing a layer in Torghast awards you with Soul Ash.

    You need Soul Ash, a vessel, and a Memory of the Runecarver to create a legendary. The Runecarver is located in Torghast. His memories are dropped from world bosses, dungeons, and raids. Try completing Torghast in a group if you’re struggling.

    You’ll need another player to craft you a vessel if you can’t. The vessel is either cloth, leather, mail, or plate armor. It’s used as a basis to craft your legendary item. Each legendary has a different special ability or stat. The ability or stat depends on which Runecarver memory that you’re using. Some are better suited for a certain class specialization. Double-check the information on the memory before you waste a vessel and Soul Ash.

    Check out Zygor Guides for epic World of Warcraft game help.

    Catch Up Mechanics

    alt="is world of warcraft overwhelming"/>

    Against overwhelming odds in World of Warcraft has “catch up” mechanics. So if the game starts to feel like overwhelming odds, then you might want to take a break. Returning to the game means you must “catch up” to the other players. Catching up usually means that your armor (item level) and reputation is behind.

    Generally, we have to keep our reps and gear at a certain level to experience end-game content. An expansion may last two years, but Blizzard Entertainment releases new content for the expansion every few months.

    An example of a current “catch up” mechanic is Renown. Each week we earn three Renown for our Covenant. Recently, Blizzard has changed the cap to two Renown per week. Certain quests like Return Lost Souls can be accepted at your Covenant Sanctum. Quests like these may pop up more than once during the week. These types of quests always reward Renown.

    If you fall behind on gearing don’t sweat it. Dungeons and LFR drop lots of loot. Also, you can take part in time walking. Time walking allows you to experience old dungeons and raids with updated rewards. The loot dropped in time walking instances are appropriate for your level.

    Also, before every expansion is released there is a pre-expansion event. So, if you fell off the grid towards the end of an expansion it’s no big deal. Normally, the quests and events will provide you with new armor. The “catch-up” gear is great for your alternate (alts) characters too.

    A Quick Summary

    alt="exploring eastern kingdoms review"/>

    World of Warcraft: Exploring Azeroth: The Eastern Kingdoms by Christie Golden takes place after the Battle for Azeroth expansion. King Anduin Wrynn has given Spymaster Mathias Shaw and Captain Flynn Fairwind approval to tour the Eastern Kingdoms.

    King Anduin sends them off with a letter that allows them safe passage through Horde territory as they are acting as ambassadors for the Alliance. High Chieftain Baine Bloodhoof also sent a note to the Horde territories allowing Shaw and Fairwind safe passage.

    Throughout their journey, they learn about the histories in each zone. They also discover information about hidden treasures. The lost crown of Lordaeron is finally found. Shaw connects with his spies. His informants give him valuable information about the state of the continent. Fairwind reads all of Shaw’s notes and writes witty commentary in the margins. Their easy chemistry is felt on every page.

    Examining World Building And Artwork

    alt="stormwind"/>

    The Eastern Kingdoms review is going to begin by examining world-building. Character development isn’t a major factor in this book. The story’s focus is on investigating the different zones. Stormwind is the first area explored in the book. Shaw describes Stormwind as, “The beating heart of the Alliance.”

    He explains the statues lining the bridge which leads into the city. The statues are of Falstad Wildhammer, Danath Trollbane, Archmage Khadgar, Alleria Windrunner, and High Exarch Turalyon. These statues honor fallen leaders of the Alliance. Alleria Windrunner and High Exarch Turalyon were discovered to be alive during the Legion expansion.

    Examining World Building And Artwork Continued

    alt="stormwind"/>

    Shaw explains how the Stonemason’s Guild rebuilt the city after the First War. He also discussed how the Stonemason’s Guild was denied payment for their work. The black dragon Onyxia was pretending to be the Lady Katrana Prestor, and she instigated the feud between the Stonemason’s Guild and Stormwind. The guild eventually ended up fleeing to Westfall and forming the Defias Brotherhood, led by Edwin VanCleef.

    An awesome illustration of Stormwind Keep is on the page. The picture on this post doesn’t do the drawing justice. Shaw then explains each section of Stormwind Keep by describing the history of those areas. His report includes fascinating information about the weapons Shalamayne and Fearbreaker. The report also discusses Garona Halforcen’s betrayal when she assassinated King Llane during the Second War. Garona wasn’t in her right mind at the time of the attack, and she is now in good standing with Uncrowned.

    Examining World Building And Artwork Continued – Karazhan

    alt="eastern kingdoms review karazhan"/>

    Each zone from Stranglethorn Vale all the way to Eversong Woods is included. One notable part of the book which stood out to me is when Shaw and Fairwind visit Karazhan. The old tower was once home to the Guardian of Tirisfal Magus Medivh.

    Medivh was the one who opened the Dark Portal and allowed the corrupted Orcs to descend into Azeroth. Sargeras was controlling Medivh. Karazhan is an interesting and dangerous place.

    Deadly magical artifacts, books, and weapons are inside of Karazhan’s halls. The report talks about Medivh’s Dark Riders. The Dark Riders searched the world and collected powerful artifacts for Medivh. Many of those artifacts still reside in the tower today.

    The Eastern Kingdoms Review Continued – Karazhan
    alt="the eastern kingdoms review karazhan"/>

    Karazhan is also home to hauntings. Spirits continue to perform different plays on the Opera Stage within the tower. There is also a local legend of an unnatural steed who roams Karazhan’s grounds. Midnight is the steed and it belonged to Attumen the Huntsman who terrorized trespassers.

    We learn that Archmage Khadgar now resides in the tower. This is exciting information because Legion never told us where the Archmage went before the Fourth War. The Spymaster makes a curious note about Khadgar and the dark temptations of Karazhan.

    Shaw mentions that they check up on Khadgar sometimes to make sure he’s okay. It could be a possible foreshadowing that Khadgar may fall to darkness like his mentor Medivh. If this proves to be true it would be an intriguing and poetic direction to take the story, especially if Khadgar can fight off the evil temptations of the tower, unlike Medivh.

    “This particular task has been much eased since Khadgar moved into Karazhan. He’s withstood the temptation of this place before…Of course, it never hurts to be careful. We usually check up on him, too” (Golden, pg. 24).

    Overall: My Thoughts And Opinions

    alt="the eastern kingdoms review"/>

    World of Warcraft: Exploring Azeroth: The Eastern Kingdoms review is a fun book. The book is 121 pages long. Shaw does the writing, but Fairwind gets to shine in Booty Bay. It’s the perfect place for Fairwind to display his Swashbuckling knowledge. Fairwind writes the “Rules to Survive Booty Bay” and Shaw leaves hilarious commentary on his notes.

    The book also features cool armor sets from each class. These little snippets of information were really creative and added flavor to the text. I felt like Golden was paying homage to the countless adventurers who traverse through Azeroth.

    Azeroth is also home to many famous weapons. Within the book, we see them mentioned. This excited me because of the story tied to them. During the Legion expansion, we got to play with the legendary weapons and it was epic.

    Fairwind was once a pirate. Buried treasure is something he can find. He figures out where the lost crown of Lordaeron is located. You’ll be surprised to discover it’s been hidden in plain sight. He’s also intuitive and could sense that the Tirisfal Glades was hiding more than just the deceased. He also wondered if there was any goodness in Arthas, but seemed to lose hope in the fallen prince once he learned that Arthas had raised his horse Invincible from the dead. Fairwind also said what we’re all thinking in terms of the undead.

    “This “Becoming Undead” tendency seems like quite the problem. Can’t you do anything about it?” (Golden, Pg. 99)

    Overall: My Thoughts And Opinions Continued

    alt="the eastern kingdoms review"/>

    World of Warcraft is rich with engaging stories and unforgettable characters. New and old players alike will enjoy this book. Long time fans of the game series will enjoy being reminded of Azeroth’s vast history, whereas new fans will appreciate an easy to digest companion book to the game.

    We’re reminded about the ancient troll civilizations, how the dwarven clans became fractured, and the insurmountable pain the blood elves have experienced. The old human kingdom in the Arathi Highlands is mentioned, as well as the kingdom of Gilneas which is currently in the Alliance.

    Ancient kingdoms and devastating wars create the world of Azeroth. I love how this book only focuses on the Eastern Kingdoms. I’m excited to see if a book for each continent is released. Breaking the history of Azeroth down this way is great, and I’ll certainly be reading World of Warcraft: Exploring Azeroth: The Eastern Kingdoms again.

    World of Warcraft’s story is why I play the game. Having the highest item level to squash my enemies is fun, but that’s not my main reason for logging into the game. Logging into the game immerses me in a world full of magic and wonder. In Azeroth, I’m able to become a hero. Reading this book reminded me of why I fell in love with the Warcraft universe.

  • World Of Warcraft Holidays

    World Of Warcraft Holidays

    World of Warcraft holidays is so wholesome. Every Christmas morning fans from all over the world log into WoW and wait with anticipation to open their presents from Greatfather Winter. The event is unofficial and is a heartwarming tradition. Alliance players wait in Ironforge, and Horde players wait in Orgrimmar.

    Generally, presents should be available to open by noon PST. There are six presents underneath the Christmas tree. Each gift pops up with a quest floating above. Every year there are two new gifts underneath the tree. For players who don’t open their gifts on Christmas, they have until the end of Winter Veil (the in-game Christmas event) to open their presents.

    The WoW fandom has always been fun and goofy. Playing WoW already brings out the child in us, and it’s no surprise that Christmas in WoW brings it out more. It’s moments like these that make me proud to be a WoW player and fan. The WoW fandom is truly a global family and unofficial events like these help to bring us closer.

    What Is The Feast Of Winter Veil?

    alt="world of warcraft holiday fun"/>

    Greatfather Winter (or Great-father Winter for Horde) is the World of Warcraft holidays version of Santa Claus. Each year Winter Veil begins in mid-December.

    Horde players can grab the holiday quests in Orgrimmar, and Alliance players can get them in Ironforge. Greatfather Winter is located near the Christmas tree. He’s a dwarf for Alliance and an Orc for Horde.

    Winter Veil gives players several quests to complete. One quest is to save Metzen the Reindeer from the Abominable Greench. Metzen the Reindeer is named after Chris Metzen who is the voice of Thrall. There are also quests to bring cookies to Greatfather Winter.

    The lovable bird Pepe was in this year’s event. He’s hanging out on the Smokywood Pastures cart in both Ironforge and Orgrimmar. Be sure to right-click on Pepe so you can gain a cute little friend. You can also fly around in the snow globe, or hop into Greatfather Winter’s sleigh for a joyful trip around town.

    Every holiday event also has achievements to earn. So don’t forget to check out your achievements and search for “Winter Veil” underneath the “holidays” tab on the left side of the achievements list.

    How To Join In The Holiday Fun

    alt="world of warcraft holidays pepe"/>

    During the Feast of Winter Veil, you can craft or obtain a holiday outfit. Basically, it’s a Santa Claus outfit in either red or green. You can also add festive holly to your mounts to turn it into a reindeer.

    World of Warcraft holidays is abundant with holiday cheer. Players also exchange gifts with each other. Great in-game gift ideas include battle pets and toys. So it’s a great time to show love and appreciation for your guild members and friends.

    New Year’s Eve is also acknowledged in WoW. Every hour on the evening of New Year’s Eve is marked by fireworks in Stormwind and Orgrimmar. Be sure to grab some sparkling cider and experience the countdown with your fellow WoW nerds.

    Throughout the Feast of Winter Veil, you can also purchase holiday food and treats from Smokywood Pastures. They sell holiday cheese wheels and fruit cake.

    Also, during the World of Warcraft holidays event bosses in dungeons, raids, and Torghast wear Santa hats.

    World Of Warcraft Holidays Unofficial Tradition

    alt="world of warcraft holidays"/>

    If you’d like to join in the fun on Christmas each year then be sure to log into the game before noon PST. Alliance players should head to Ironforge. There’s a Christmas tree in front of the bank. Horde players should head to Orgrimmar. There is a Christmas tree in the Valley of Strength.

    Players find unique ways to pass the time while we wait. Many players bring out toys. Some players will sit on their mounts. Others will chit-chat in Trade or General chat. They’ll also dress in festive attire.

    Excitement is high as we wait to open our gifts.  Opening the presents is met with laughter and frustration as everyone bombards the Christmas tree at once.

    The chaos is part of the fun because we can’t see anything for about five minutes. Once everyone opens their gifts then the crowd leaves. Within ten to fifteen minutes everything has gone back to normal, and you’re left with a feeling of warmth as you hopefully plan to participate next year.

    Christmas morning is one of the finest examples of WoW’s community. Our fandom isn’t only defined by grinding for a high item level, or reputation. We’re also silly and fun. World of Warcraft holidays wouldn’t be so joyous if fans didn’t know to kick back and enjoy the moment.

    Every player has hung out in a major city in the game. If you’re away from the keyboard (AFK) in a capital city (Stormwind, Orgrimmar, etc.), a sanctuary city (Dalaran, Shattrath, or Oribos), or Shrine of Seven Stars or Shrine of Two Moons you’ve seen Trade Chat. The purpose of Trade Chat is to connect players in the same faction who play on the same/connected servers.

    Players are supposed to use Trade chat to trade items, but it’s not uncommon to see a lot of trolls in chat. A chat troll is someone who’s talking about general nonsense. It’s also common to see Guild recruitment in Trade. Many players only use Trade Chat if they really need to. Trade Chat is generally not the place to ask for help in the game. You run the risk of chat trolls giving you a hard time. Sometimes a kind player will whisper to you which means they will message you privately. alt="WoW terms"/>

    Raiding is one of the most fun activities to do in WoW. Joining a raid team takes commitment, but once you’ve found your tribe it’s so worth it. A great time to join a raid team is at the beginning of a new expansion. The whole player base is starting the game on equal footing. Everyone has to reach the level cap and gear up their character. So if you’re interested in joining a raid team, be on the lookout for guilds that are recruiting in trade chat.
