Great News for Hunter Pets on WoW!

    alt="affiliate disclosure with I"/>

According to Icy Veins hunters will be able to tame Horridon and Oondasta in patch 8.2 Rise of Azshara. Those pets are dinosaurs and should look great with Zandalari troll hunters.

    Image from Wowhead.com

    Oondasta

There won’t be a requirement to tame Oondasta. Good luck finding her alive on the Isle of Giants though. Oondasta is heavily camped by just about everyone.

If you wish to attempt to tame the giant dinosaur you’ll need to fly to the Isle of Giants which is located above Kun-Lai Summit in Pandaria.

    Horridon

To tame Horridon you will need to enter the Throne of Thunder raid. He’s a dire horn and is the second boss in the instance.

Dire horns can only be tamed if you learn how. You must obtain an Ancient Tome of Dinomancy which drops from Zandalari dinomancers on the Isle of Giants.

The Throne of Thunder raid is located in the north-western part of the Isle of the Thunder King. Take the portal in the Shado-pan Garrison in Townlong Steppes.

    The Hunt is On

As a hunter myself, I’m always on the lookout for awesome hunter pets on WoW. I’m sure to get myself one of these beauties. Hunting rare and interesting pets has always made World of Warcraft exciting for me, regardless of where the plot is going. Until next time!

    Have fun storming the castle!

World of Warcraft Patch 8.2: New Areas to Explore

    . alt="affiliate disclosure with I"/>

This week we have news about the World of Warcraft patch. WoW Game Director Ion Hazzikostas did a Forbes interview. He discussed the upcoming World of Warcraft patch “Rise of Azshara.” The patch is said to be one of the larger content updates so far in the expansion.

    So, let’s dive right in.

Exploration: New Zones in World of Warcraft

The new World of Warcraft patch “Rise of Azshara” will feature two new explorable zones. These zones will be the larger Nazjatar and the smaller Mechagon.

Nazjatar is similar to Tanaan Jungle and Argus. Apparently, the zone will have a base like structure. You’ll build your own base, have guards, and find rares. It also shares the same endgame type of feel similar to Argus. Quests are very Horde and Alliance focused. The factions want ot know how to stop Azshara.

The zone is reminiscent of Townlong Steppes in Mists of Pandaria where we had followers like bodyguards. In the World of Warcraft patch, this zone is an improvement from Townlong, Broken Shore, and Argus.

“It’s a traditional endgame sort of zone, so it’s cut from some of that same cloth. There’s the more natural kelp forest, that was just recently submerged, where we can see the ruins of the ships of the fleet that have foundered.” Hazzikostas said.

Mechagon is a smaller zone. It’s similar to the Timeless Isle where we’ll be exploring. The mechadungeon won’t be available right off the bat.

Get Ready for the Changes Ahead

In the World of Warcraft patch, there are changes to the Heart of Azeroth system. Which include a socket for Heart of Azeroth essences. The socket will function similar to a glyph did back in the day, where you can add more stamina or agility to a character.

Pathfinder part 2 will finally be available and if you grind it out, you should have flying unlocked within a few weeks.

I’m honestly super excited about exploring the new zones. There was information about Season 3, mythic + and Benthic Gear, but my interests lay in questing and exploration.

  • WoW Hunter: Well Met: Alzéanz

    WoW Hunter: Well Met: Alzéanz

    alt="affiliate disclosure with I"/>

Hello! I wanted to introduce you guys to my World of Warcraft hunter. This is the first post of many. I figured it was important to introduce you to my main first. WoW is one of the best MMO games. There are so many classes to choose from.

My main is a World of Warcraft hunter named Alzéanz. I’ve played him regularly since the Mists of Pandaria expansion, but my first toon was actually a night elf druid.

Check out the fanfiction inspired by Alzéanz and his adventures in Azeroth.

I chose to create a male Dwarven hunter because of the cinematic for Vanilla WoW. I’m also fascinated by the Dwarven lore. The Dwarves are connected to Titan lore and technology. I’ve always found the Titans in WoW to be so fascinating. So, Alzéanz has always been so exciting to me.

The Dwarves are also incredibly funny. I enjoy hearing their accents, and I love how gorgeous Dun Morogh looks. The Dwarves are my favorite race to play besides the Goblins.

Want to show your pride For the Alliance? Then feel free to check out this JINX World of Warcraft Alliance Pride Hoodie on Amazon.com.

A World of Warcraft Hunter Was Born

I created Alzéanz when I’d only been playing the game for a week or so during Wrath of the Lich King. My friends were talking in guild chat and everyone was having a great time.

I knew I wanted to make a dwarf hunter. The cinematic for World of Warcraft Classic was so cool. I’d always wanted a Dwarven hunter, so I made one.

That first day playing him was rough. Hunters didn’t start with a pet back then. We also couldn’t shoot at point-blank range. I died often, then I finally leveled high enough to tame a pet.

I gritted my teeth and kept going though. Dun Morogh felt so dangerous to me at the time. The bitter cold and the rough mountain terrain solidified that I was on my own in a vast world.

The fantasy World of Warcraft provided was out of this world. It was so awesome to play a hunter for the first time. I remember Alzéanz’s gun was so loud. Today, I transmog is gun to a bow, but I remember needing to get accessories for my gun to muffle the sound.

In fantasy, I’ve always been fascinated by wizards and hunters. So I spend a lot of time either playing those type of characters or writing those kind of characters in my novels.

    Forging an Unbreakable Bond

While talking to my friends in guild chat, one of them told me about World of Warcraft hunter pets. He told me that some are rare. From that moment on, a love of hunting rares was born.

alt="world of warcraft hunter - Alzéanz and Kordorory"/>

My first pet was a rare polar bear. I named my bear Kordoroy.

Kordoroy went everywhere with me. The bond we shared was legendary. I always made sure I kept his happiness up so he wouldn’t run away. Although I don’t play with him today, I still remember all the special moments when I did.

Now, Kordoroy sits comfortably in my stable.

alt="world of warcraft hunter - Alzéanz and Blue"/>

I’ve hunted so many special pets since then. I’m currently using a rare spirit beast I got from Orgrimmar. You’ve probably seen me or other hunters running around with the raptor. Its skin is a rich blue color that you can’t miss. I named my raptor boo, Blue. It’s an obvious choice but it’s also an adorable one, so that’s why I chose the name.

alt="world of warcraft hunter - Alzéanz and Kandi"/>

When I name a hunter pet, I put a lot of thought into it. My pets may not exist in the real world, but they do exist in the World of Warcraft, and I try and make sure they matter. If my hunter was real, he would make sure his pets were well cared for.

Sometimes I wish WoW would allow me to care for the pets more. I remember in Wrath we fed our pets to keep our happiness up, which could be a challenge at times. I don’t need it to be that hard again, but it would be nice to give my hunter more to do with his pets. It’ll make him seem like a true beastmaster.

    Hunting for Success

I played my night elf druid until Wrath of the Lich King ended. During Cataclysm, I switched to a death knight for a while. Until I joined a guild and their raid team.

I enjoyed playing my death knight, but I wasn’t good at playing her in a group. My druid was getting dusty and had remained at level 50 something, leaving me with my World of Warcraft hunter.

Before I knew it, I was hunting rare beasts in my spare time. The cooler it looked, the better, especially if it was a spirit beast.

I enjoyed the challenge of hunting these beasts provided. Plus, during Mists of Pandaria, hunter pets offered buffs to raids. It made me feel as if my pets were useful, and not just pretty.

I was sad when Blizzard took away the hunter pet buffs. I’m happy that growl auto turns off in instances now. It was so frustrating to have other players message me about growl. It was even worse to be blamed for something when I’d just zoned into an instance and then be insta-kicked although I hadn’t done anything. Such was the life of playing a hunter back in the day.

I’m happy with certain hunter changes such as growl being turned off. I just wish I could do more with my pet than just stare at it. WoW may not be real, but I would imagine a real hunter would have to feed, groom, and take care of his pets. I don’t want a penalty for not doing it (pets running away from unhappiness), I just want to do it for fun.

    Tracking Change

World of Warcraft Hunters has changed so much since vanilla. I was playing the World of Warcraft Classic beta test and I was reminded how playing a hunter felt.

I really felt as if I was in the wilderness. Life was hard, my gun was loud, and I had no pet.

Alzéanz has come a long way since I leveled him up during Wrath. Now the gameplay is more streamlined. I’m not complaining, I don’t like dying every five feet, but I do miss the feeling of being a real hunter and the sense of danger.

Change is always guaranteed in life, and my hunter is no exception.

I’m excited to see what changes hunters will have in the future. The class has continued to evolve and grow. Hunters have come a long way from being the butt of jokes.

I’d love to see player housing in the future. The garrison system in Warlords of Draenor wasn’t what players had in mind. I’d love to have my pets in my stable at my house. But, I know Blizzard won’t do that because it would sacrifice a raid tier. In fact, I believe they had a tombstone as a joking reference to that in Warlords.

    The Journey’s Not Over

    Well met: Alzéanz!

You’ll be seeing me play him the most. I also play a goblin hunter quite often. I’ll introduce you to my goblin hunter as well, as I continue to play one of the best MMO games around.

    Happy hunting!

  • World of Warcraft Story So Far (Updated)

World of Warcraft Story So Far (Updated)

Spoiler Alert: This post is about the World of Warcraft story so far. It will contain spoilers for patch 8.2.5 and the end of the War Campaign.

The War Campaign has finally concluded, and the World of Warcraft story so far is shocking. Sylvanas revealed her true colors during her duel with Saurfang. He challenged her to Mak’gora. This is an Orcish tradition where combatants duel and fight to the death. Saurfang lost the fight, but he was able to expose Sylvanas to the Horde. She let it slip that the Horde means nothing.

Players who were loyal to Sylvanas received a different ending cinematic. Sylvanas revealed more of her plans, but not all of them. She said that N’Zoth will eventually serve death. We’ve yet to ‘meet’ death in the game. So far we’ve seen characters associated with death like Bolvar (Lich King), Bwonsamdi, and Helya. None of them could answer Vol’jin either on who told him to make Sylvanas warchief. Although, Bwownsamdi mentioned he has a master. Some fans speculate that Yogg-Saron may be the God of Death. It’s also possible that the God of Death is someone we haven’t met yet.

Clearly, Sylvanas has made a pact with death, and she has been serving it for quite some time. What could the God of Death have promised her? Does all this tie into N’Zoth saying ‘all eyes shall be opened’? Death is going to be a major theme going forward. Rumors have swirled around for months that the next expansion will take us to the Shadowlands. We’ve never visited the Realm of Death. During gameplay, we may die, but I’m referring to visiting the Shadowlands for the plot.

It almost feels like Battle for Azeroth has many plot threads that don’t weave together. There’s no direct path to the next expansion. We could be visiting the Shadowlands, or we could journey to the Dragon Isles. Death, void, and dragons seem to be popping up a lot. The black Dragonflight was once corrupted by Old God influence. Wrathion provided us with a potion to cure Ebonhorn of the Old God’s madness.

alt="Where is the World of Warcraft Story so far going?"/>

World of Warcraft Story So Far: Was The War Campaign Conclusion Satisfying?

The cinematics has honestly been the best part of the whole expansion. They didn’t disappoint in patch 8.2.5. Blizzard has raised the bar on how they tell the story. If they made a Warcraft movie or television show in the style of the cinematics, then I’d certainly watch it. Each cinematic is a dazzling spectacle and it’s a real treat to watch.

Besides the high-quality of the cinematic, the conclusion to the War Campaign fell flat. Saurfang finally died a warrior’s death as he wanted, but Sylvanas is still out there. As an Alliance player, I felt like I was on the sidelines. The whole expansion has felt this way to me. Most of the time I wondered why I was doing something throughout Battle for Azeroth. Even most of the fandom was only talking about the Horde plotline. How many people remember Jaina’s plot? Her mom and the entire Kingdom of Kul Tiras forgave her. We also can’t forget that Jaina’s brother has returned. Does anyone remember Flynn or Taelia? Taelia is the Lich King’s daughter, but she hasn’t been mentioned in a while.

We also didn’t get any real answers for Sylvanas’s plan. She may be working with death, but why? Was she offered immortality? She’s already dead though, right? With Sylvanas gone, now the Horde is suddenly cool again. It was a sudden shift. We didn’t get an answer to who’s leading the Horde now. Is everyone just okay with Sylvanas’s loyalists?

The expansion isn’t over yet. So all of these questions may be answered. It’s a little tiring though to keep us in the dark about Sylvanas’s plans. Her character used to be likable to me, but now she’s not. At least Sylvanas admitted she did care for the Forsaken. I’m relieved to hear because that was part of why I liked her. I don’t play undead characters, but I’ve always felt for them because of their story. None of them asked to become the monsters that Arthas turned them into. Sylvanas used to fight for them, and to me that was honorable.

The Next Warchief – Are The Horde And Alliance Friends Now?

    alt="world of warcraft story so far - saurfang's funeral"/>

The World of Warcraft story so far makes it look as if the factions are friends. NPCs in Stormwind, Orgrimmar, and Boralus have opinions about this new story shift. Two Alliance soldiers discuss the recent events from the Fourth War. One of them points out he’s tired of the Horde being in his homeland and he wants them out. The fandom is divided too. Some fans are hoping for a merge, some are hoping for a split, and others want the factions to be left alone.

We do have more questions than answers. Besides the potential love story and memes of ‘Banner Bae’ and ‘Zappy Boi,’ there doesn’t seem to be a lot of closure. Now that Thrall is back in the picture, maybe he’ll lead the Horde again. Where could this take the story though? Thrall mentioned his regrets to Jaina after they rescued Baine. It could be fitting that the creator of the new Horde retakes the reins. He could give the Horde a new life.

Jaina and Thrall’s friendship could be important for securing peace. In the past, they were always able to talk. Some fans have begun shipping them. Considering we don’t know where Thrall’s wife Aggra is, then maybe a ship between Thrall and Jaina may actually set sail. It wouldn’t be the first time we’ve had interracial relationships within WoW. A relationship between Thrall and Jaina would probably mellow everyone out.

On the character selection screen our faction symbol appears beside our characters. Maybe we’ll be able to choose which faction we want now. It’s a unique thought, but it would take time for me to get used too.

Story Speculation – What Should We Expect In Patches 8.3 and 9.0?

alt="world of warcraft story so far - saurfang, zekhan, and thrall"/>

Going forward I expect to see the factions having a time of peace. They’re going to be focused on defeating N’Zoth. So there won’t be much time for faction squabbles. The peace probably won’t last. I hope Tyrande doesn’t become the next villain. She doesn’t need to be another Sylvanas. Imagine if Tyrande is so consumed by vengeance that she summons Elune into Azeroth. We’ve never seen the moon goddess. If Elune is a titan then this could get very interesting. I’ve wondered before if Elune is the Goddess of Death. The night reminds me of darkness, although the moon is generally a cool and peaceful light. The moon does have control over the tides, which reminds me of emotions. It’s a crazy idea, but it’s fun to think about.

Yogg-Saron is the most obvious candidate for the God of Death. It’s been speculated in the past that Yogg-Saron was controlling the Lich King. At the time we were in the midst of the Wrath of the Lich King expansion. We know that Bwonsamdi, the Loa of Death, has a master. It’s also possible that Helya is answering the same being.

    Story Speculation Continued

alt="world of warcraft story so far - alliance and horde meeting before facing Sylvanas"/>

We’ve never truly defeated Yogg-Saron, and even if we did Old Gods don’t seem to follow the normal rules of death. It’s believed that Old Gods go to Ny’alotha, which is probably like the Underworld from Greek myth. Gods can’t truly be destroyed. The problem is that we’re already seeing them break free from cages. How are we supposed to defeat them, and stop the Black Empire from rising again?

It’s not like we haven’t faced this reality of Azeroth ending before. During the Cataclysm expansion, we got to experience the End Time. The End Time is a heroic dungeon within the Caverns of Time. Within the instance we faced Murozond. He’s actually the bronze dragon aspect Nozdormu. In this bleak future, we had to find the Dragon Soul to help us defeat Deathwing. Our purpose was to prevent Azeroth from having that bleak future, which was called the Hour of Twilight. Maybe the Hour of Twilight is finally among us, and the Black Empire will rise yet again.

Calia Menethil And A Steamy Romance Novel?

alt="world of warcraft story so far - calia menethil"/>

Once the War Campaign was completed on the Alliance, the World of Warcraft story so far took us to Calia Menethil. Calia was Arthas Menethil’s sister. She’s technically queen of Lordaeron now that Arthas is dead. Arthas destroyed the kingdom when he joined the undead Scourge as a Death Knight. He then returned home and murdered his own father. Calia was able to escape the city back then. Her character returned to the story in Legion, and she was killed by Sylvanas. Anduin and the Naaru raised Calia from the dead. So Calia is the first light forged undead in the game.

The quest took us to Stormsong Valley were Calia and Derek were hanging out. Derek is Jaina’s brother. He died years ago, but Sylvanas raised him from the dead with the intent of using him for something. Luckily, Baine Bloodhoof returned Derek to Jaina. When we met with Calia and Derek, it sounded like they were getting pretty close. Jaina has unintentionally become an undead matchmaker.

Calia and Derek wouldn’t be the first undead couple in the game. During the loyalist ending for Horde, we saw Nathanos and Sylvanas confirm their love. In fact, Nathanos told his love to have a safe journey. They were a couple when they were both alive. Nathanos was the only human ranger within Silvermoon (where the Blood Elves are from). It wasn’t a secret that he and Sylvanas were close. Once Sylvanas was dead, she then had Nathanos, her champion resurrected. He’s served his lady faithfully every since. Being dead doesn’t mean you can’t get any sugar folks!

    Wrathion: Where Is He?

    alt="wrathion's left and right"/>

Magni Bronzebeard called us to the Chamber of Heart to free Ebonhorn. The black dragon was falling under Old God influence. Magni asked us to find the Black Prince to see if he had a cure. Wrathion sure has been busy. He’s searching for the Dragon Isles. The Dragon Isles sounds like an awesome place to visit.  I hope it pops up in the next expansion. It was sad to see Ebonhorn falling to the corruption, but there was a time that the Black Dragon flight served the Old Gods. Neltharian (Deathwing) fell victim to the Old God whispers and the whole Dragonflight followed. Sometimes it’s hard to believe that the Black Dragonflight was once the protectors of the Earth.

Honestly, this quest chain was fun. With the World of Warcraft story so far, sometimes it’s easy to forget about old content. This quest took us back to Pandaria which is such a beautiful place. Wrathion had two of his agents waiting for us at the Tavern in the Mist. There’s a lot of mystery surrounding his character, and it seemed fitting to revisit the tavern where we first met him. He fascinates me because I’m not sure if we can trust him. I also enjoy seeing a brown-skinned character who has so much depth in World of Warcraft. The game had us journey to Karazhan and it’s always exciting to venture inside. Karazhan is so deliciously creepy. I love it when the game has us travel Azeroth for the plot.

Wrathion left us journal entries to find, and he promised he’d fight by our side against N’Zoth in the real Battle for Azeroth. What if Wrathion is the main hero in the next expansion?

Warcraft Movies: Those Cinematics Are Dope!

alt="lor'themar theron speaking with jaina proudmoore and thalyssra"/>

What I want is a new World of Warcraft movie (or TV Show). The cinematics for this game is top-notch. Music and cinematics are truly what gives WoW life. It’d be so exciting to watch a new movie. My concern is that Blizzard doesn’t make the same mistakes as the first movie. The writing was all over the place. There were too many heroes and not enough focus on one. Some of the actors didn’t seem enthusiastic.  It’d be so epic if Blizzard announced a new movie or TV show at BlizzCon 2019.

Discover this adorable backpack from JuJuBe’s World of Warcraft’s Cute but Deadly collection on Amazon.com.

Movies Are Cool, But What About An Orchestra!

alt="world of warcraft story so far - alliance and horde meeting in razor hill"/>

I’ve always wondered why Blizzard doesn’t have orchestra concerts. Successful franchises like Kingdom Hearts have them and it’s a great way to enjoy the game in a new way. Fans from all over come out to listen to the music. Surely Blizzard realizes how much money they could make from this. World of Warcraft has really epic music. Some songs are peaceful like Elwynn Forest. Either way, I’d love to see the music of Warcraft played by an orchestra while epic scenes from the series play out on screen. Do you think a World of Warcraft orchestra concert is a good idea? Leave a comment below with your thoughts.

    About Spyells

Thank you for visiting. Warcraftlover is a neutral blog. My real name is Shanae and I’ve played World of Warcraft since the Wrath of the Lich King expansion. I play the Alliance, but I have Horde characters. This blog is a love letter to the game and fandom which has given me so many memories. I’ve also written and self-published books under the following pen names: Rose S. King and Kari Summers. I’m from California.

alt="best ways to gain reputation fast in wow - faire"/>

The WoW fandom is like a second home. I’ve made it through hard times thanks to World of Warcraft. Now I’m aware it’s a computer game. WoW hasn’t replaced my faith in God, or my family, or even my best friend. I’m referring to how World of Warcraft has helped me by being an escape during the years. I’ve struggled with depression and anxiety, and recently my family has dealt with my grandma’s cancer. It’s been a hard road and World of Warcraft has been a constant companion for me on this treacherous adventure.

    Quest: How I discovered Warcraft

    alt="about spyells - hillsbrad foothills"/>

Everyone has a story on how they were introduced to WoW. Do you remember what first brought you to Azeroth? Leave a comment and share your story.

My godmother introduced me to World of Warcraft. She was my Mom’s childhood best friend. As a child, I visited her house every summer break. When we weren’t geeking out over Harry Potter, I can guarantee you I was on the PlayStation 2. If it wasn’t for her I wouldn’t have discovered my love for gaming. She allowed me to play the World of Warcraft free trial during vanilla.

My godmother already had an established guild. Her guild was composed of family, friends, and friends of friends. The small group felt like family and welcomed me with open arms. I created lasting memories with them. None of them play the game today, but I wish they knew how much of an impact they had on a then seventeen-year-old. I thought they were so cool.

    Objective: How I Began Warcraftlover

    Writing Is My Passion

alt="best music in world of warcraft - suramar"/>

Writing is my passion. I’ve been writing since I was a little girl. My godmother would let me write stories on her computer. She used to buy me journals and I’d write fantasy stories within their pages. In the early 2000s, my family didn’t have a computer yet. If I didn’t write every day I don’t know what I’d be doing. Writing has also helped me with my depression and anxiety. It’s severe and most of the time I can’t leave the house.

I wanted to start a Warcraft blog because it’s a topic I talk about every day, so why not blog about it? Most fans stream on twitch or make YouTube videos. I miss being able to check out the content in different places. Mostly I’ll be blogging about current news, tips and tricks, and interesting stuff in WoW.

    Writing continued

My first book Blessings of the Firebird’s Light was published November 14th, 2017. Many people ask why I chose to self-publish instead of traditionally publish. Well, I did seek out a literary agent for months, and I had no luck. I was tired of waiting for someone else to tell me if my dreams were valid and if my work was worthy. So, I took the plunge and published my book on Amazon. It’s been an interesting journey. No one can prepare you for how much work it takes to advertise a novel. When I wrote Blessings, it was because I wanted to write a high-fantasy story with Christian themes. The book is geared toward young adults and follows the protagonists on a journey of self-discovery as they search for the Firebird. If you aren’t aware, the Firebird is from a Russian fairy tale. I thought it was super cool and I wanted to incorporate the quest in my book.
