WoW Classic PvP Content Schedule

alt="affiliate disclosure with I"/>

The WoW Classic PvP content schedule doesn’t have any dates, but Blizzard has given PvP players insight on what to expect. WoW Classic won’t have a formal PvP (player vs. player) system currently. So as a result, you should be able to PvP freely. There are no Dishonorable Kills, but this will change once phase 2 of the WoW Classic content plan rolls out.

Phase 2 will introduce the Honor System. The Honor System gives you Honorable Kills (Contribution Points) for you or a teammate killing someone on the opposing faction. Within the Honor System is Honorable Kills, Dishonorable Kills, and PvP Rank Rewards. There are 14 ranks and you can monitor your progress by checking the Honor Tab. To move higher in the rankings you’ll have to PvP often and it takes time to earn a good rank.

Achieving a high rank means you’ll be able to earn epic gear. As a result, normally the best players are the ones expected to have awesome armor sets. The amount of time needed to earn the gear is a testament to a player’s dedication. Killing the same player lots of times in a single day will award less honor. To avoid killing the same player too many times, try and participate in shorter battles like Arathi Basin and Warsong Gulch. Battles like Alterac Valley where you can easily rack up 1,000 honorable kills in a few hours won’t help you earn more points.

To participate in a Battleground be sure to visit a Battlemaster NPC for your faction. You can find the Alliance Battlmasters in Stormwind Keep, Warrior’s Terrace in Darnassus, and the Military Ward in Ironforge. The Horde Battlemasters are in the Hall of the Brave in Orgrimmar, Hunter Rise in Thunderbluff, and The Royal Quarter in Undercity.

After phase 2 releases the Honor System, you can then prepare for phase 3 which will bring us the first battlegrounds. They are Alterac Valley and Warsong Gulch. The vendors for those battlegrounds will become available as well. The vendors will have the updates which pertain to patch 1.12. So they may not have certain items like Spell Penetration trinkets which you could purchase in patch 1.9 during Vanilla WoW. Blizzard is planning to add the trinket and move to phase 5.

Alterac Valley and Warsong Gulch

Alterac Valley is using the patch 1.12 version. By this point, Blizzard had tuned and adjusted the battleground. So as a result, there will be no enforcement. Commanders and Lieutenants haven’t been removed. The only objectives are to kill the enemy factions general which is Drek’thar in Frostwolf Keep (Horde General), and Vanndar Stormpike in Dun Baldar (Alliance General).

Warsong Gulch requires you to be at least level 10. The Battleground is located in the southern region of the Ashenvale forest. Your objective is to capture the flag. Communication with your team is vital. There are three power-ups available to you. Beserkering increases all damage by 30%, all damage is taken by 10% and increases your size by 10%. It lasts for 1 min. Restoration will rejuvenate your health and mana for 10% for 10 seconds. If you’re attacked or you attack someone the effect will be canceled. The final buff is Speed which increases your movement speed by 100% for 10 seconds.

Phase 4 will bring us the Arathi Basin. The Horde and Alliance are competing for valuable resources. It’s a fast-paced battleground and your objective is to secure five resource nodes. These nodes include the stables, the farm, the lumber mill, the blacksmith, and the gold mine. A node will only yield it’s resources once it’s captured. Level 20 or higher is required to enter the battleground.

World PvP Objectives

alt="wow classic content schedule - wetlands"/>

World PvP objectives will begin in phase 6 with the release of Naxxramas which hovers over the Eastern Plaguelands. You’ll find World PvP objectives in Eastern Plaguelands and Sillithus. In the Eastern Plaugelands, you can participate in “A Game of Towers” which is A Game of Thrones reference. The objective is to secure the four towers on the map. Of course, if you have more members of your faction in the area you have a better chance of success. Hunt down players from the opposing faction to ensure your towers are safe. For each tower, your faction holds all members of your faction will receive the “Echos of Lordaeron” buff.

In Sillithus you’ll be taking part in “The Sillithyst Must Flow” which is a reference to the film Dune. The film made the phrase “The Spice Must Flow” popular. In the film, spice refers to a valuable resource that is obtained from a desert plant, therefore the plant is a reference to Sillithus which is a desert zone.

The objective of Sillithus World PvP encounter is to collect Sillthyst. Therefore you must locate a geyser and pick it up. Each faction has their own turn in point on the map. Attacking enemy players allows you to pick up their Sillthyst. All players can only carry one Sillthyst at a time. The first faction which gains 200 Sillthyst wins. Players will receive 20 Reputation with Cenarion Circle, and 3 Honor Points for turning in the Sillithyst. A zone-wide buff increases Ceneraion Circle Reputation gained by killing monsters from 25% and will be applied to the winning faction.

What are Disnhonorable Kills?

Killing the opposing factions civilian NPC’s will give you a dishonorable kill. These NPC’s are normally vendors or quest givers and will have a ‘civilian’ tag next to their name. A dishonorable kill lowers your Honor rating. Too many dishonorable kills will cost you a PvP rank. This system is supposed to prevent players from griefing other players.

Fun Places to PvP in the Open Game World

You don’t have to wait for the WoW Classic PvP content schedule to PvP. There are a few notable places in WoW Classic where you’ll find PvP on your server. One famous zone is in Hillsbrad Foothills in the Eastern Kingdoms. You’ll see players fighting between Tarren Mill and Southshore. Alliance players will need to head North from Ironforge to reach the continent of Lordaeron. Horde players may come down from the Undercity. Players usually clash in this zone because it’s highly contested territory. There’s no Battlemaster or official Battleground in the zone, but it’s a place where players enjoy engaging in PvP. More fun zones include Ashenvale, Stranglethorn Vale, Un’Goro Crater, Tanaris, and Burning Steppes.
