    World of Warcraft Classic First Week and World Firsts

    World of Warcraft Classic first week has been phenomenal. As a result of the massive fan response to WoW Classic’s release on August 27th, Blizzard added new servers and expanded server capacity. The enormous hype led WoW to have over a million viewers on Twitch on Classic’s release day. Also, Blizzard’s stock prices rose 4.7% which equals $51.00 a share. It’s a great time to be a World of Warcraft fan.

    As a result of these positive signs, this can only mean good things for WoW going forward. For years the fandom had asked for a return to WoW’s former glory. All fans remember the infamous line uttered by Blizzard President J. Allen Brack during BlizzCon a few years ago, “You think you do, but you don’t.”

    It’s a good thing Blizzard reconsidered creating legacy servers. Hopefully, we’ll be able to revisit the Burning Crusade and Wrath of the Lich King expansions someday.

    My First Week in WoW Classic

    alt="world of warcraft classic first week - dun morogh"/>

    I was playing on my server Mankirk while I leveled my Gnome mage, and it was so awesome to see other players helping each other. As soon as I could I started throwing buffs on other players in Kharanos. People were standing in line for quests, and players were offering to create bags for those in need. Its this feeling of community that retail WoW has lacked for a few years.

    Now, this isn’t to say that people in retail don’t talk and work together sometimes. I was in an LFR (looking for raid) group the other day, and we were fighting Za’qul and Queen Azshara. We died several times, but our group learned from our mistakes and continued onward until we beat the raid. The experience isn’t like WoW Classic because the realms in retail are interconnected, but there are good players who still play retail, and I enjoyed the Eternal Palace.

    WoW Classic has more encounters which make me smile, game-wide the player base became a unit. You could sense the immeasurable love for Warcraft and it’s a fandom. Players stepped in to help when I was in a bind because I was being attacked by too many
    mobs. To help out, I started conjuring food and water to give to other adventurers.

    First Level 60

    alt="blizzard expands wow classic servers capacity - the barrens"/>

    Congratulations to Jokerd for reaching level 60 first. Leveling is a major milestone because of the incredible time commitment. Jokerd reached level 60 after grinding mobs in Western Plaguelands. He played on his Twitch stream for 300,000 viewers. Other players stopped Jokerd from deleting his toon by flooding his mailbox with mail. Method, WoW’s top raiding guild, is hosting a worldwide event, and are streaming players who are in the race to reach level 60. They are partnered with the World Showdown of Esports.

    Ragnaros: The Firelord Defeated

    A guild called APES on the EU Gehennas server was the first to defeat Ragnaros. The guild practiced for this event and kept their intentions secret. Players found out the guild was going to try and kill the Firelord on Reddit. Many of the Redditors knew APES and their dedication to achieving World First from private servers.

    Most average players won’t enter Molten Core to face Ragnaros for months. Life commitments and work are going to slow many players down. The fact that APES was able to down Ragnaros in only five days is an impressive feat. It’s a testament to their skill and dedication to World of Warcraft. Raids in Vanilla WoW were 40-man, which also adds to the impressiveness of this accomplishment.

    World of Warcraft Classic First Week: A Toast to 15 Years of WoW

    alt="world of warcraft classic first week - snowfall in dun morogh while questing"/>

    So, I’d like to conclude this World of Warcraft Classic first week post by raising my goblet too. Thank you Blizzard and to the entire World of Warcraft team for an amazing 15 years of WoW. This game has brought me through hardships and introduced me to countless friends. The adventures I’ve had in Azeroth will live on with me for the rest of my life. WoW gave me an escape when I didn’t know that it was possible. So, this is my #ToastToWarcraft and I’m excited to see what the next 15 years (or more) bring.

    WoW Classic makes you feel a sense of accomplishment as you play. I can’t tell you how excited I was to level up my skills and professions. Leveling is painfully slow, but it’s so rewarding. I’m enjoying my experience so far, and I hope to see more legacy content like a Burning Crusade or Wrath of the Lich King server someday.

  • Blizzard Expanded WoW Classic Server Capacity

    Blizzard Expanded WoW Classic Server Capacity

    alt="affiliate disclosure with I"/>

    Yesterday, August 28, 2019, Blizzard expanded WoW Classic Server capacity. So if you noticed that your login queue was shorter or non-existent that was why.

    It’s a great thing too because some players were experiencing waits as long as six hours or more. Yikes!

    WoW Classic has certainly created a good problem to have though because World of Warcraft had over a million viewers on Twitch Monday. So, things are looking fantastic for the game and for Blizzard right now.

    The game feels so alive. It’s completely different than retail WoW.

    But, I hope that Blizzard can improve retail going forward. Visiting the past is fun, but I’d like to know what happens next in the storyline, and I’d love to visit new lands.

    Stock Price

    alt="blizzard expands wow classic servers capacity - the barrens"/>

    In other WoW related news…Blizzard’s stock went up this week. Now, I’m not an expert in the stock market, but I’m pretty sure that their stock price rising to 4.7% on Tuesday was no accident. The hype surrounding WoW Classic was crazy this week.

    For Blizzard, this probably means more money, but for the fans, this may mean we could see more old school content. If Blizzard is seeing more dollar signs, it’s more likely we’ll be getting a Burning Crusade and a Wrath of the Lich King server.

    Some Classic fans won’t agree with those, because they feel that flight and Looking for Group ruined the game. I’m not saying that Classic fans don’t have a point, especially when concerning LFG tools, but you can’t deny that Wrath of the Lich King was World of Warcraft’s high point. It makes sense for Blizzard to re-release their most popular expansion.

    If WoW Classic was this hot, just imagine the enormous hype for Wrath’s re-release.

    Lawsuit

    alt="blizzard expands wow classic server capacity - dun morogh"/>

    Blizzard is suing a Chinese gaming company called ‘Sina Games’ for ripping off World of Warcraft. This isn’t the first time this has happened. A game as popular as WoW is bound to have imitators. Polygon.com posted a copy of the lawsuit.

    The game is called Glorious Saga and is available as a downloadable app in China and the United States. Apparently, this game has copied characters like Jaina Proudmoore and Thrall, and even artwork, like the famous Orcs and Humans poster from Warcraft I.

    Copying work from a mega-company like Blizzard has never been worth it. These types of lawsuits always result in the loss of millions of dollars. I’m not sure why people take the risk of copying work from large corporations.

    What do you think about all this? Please leave a comment with your thoughts.

    World of Warcraft Classic Realms Is Live

    alt="affiliate disclosure with I"/>

    World of Warcraft Classic Realms Is Live. Yesterday was an exciting rush to log into the game. From Vanilla veterans to new fans, WoW Classic….Was A Hit!

    You know WoW Classic was a success because World of Warcraft had 1 million viewers on Twitch. It’s amazing that the community stepped out in full-force in support of Classic.

    Also, Blizzard opened new servers after the launch because of player demand. All of the servers had a login queue after the initial rush. Some players on Twitter had waited up to 2 hours.

    It’s obvious that the WoW Classic development team put a lot of love into this game. I’m so happy to have an old school version of WoW to play. I’m playing both retail and WoW Classic and I’m loving every minute.

    WoW Classic is great because we know we have a piece of World of Warcraft history at our fingertips. There are so many new players experiencing the joys of Classic for the first time. I loved playing with my brothers last night on the Mankirk server.

    We didn’t experience any significant login issues. But, we did watch Asmongold’s stream while we played, and I believe he was disconnected from the game (instead of logging out). He was so disappointed and decided to take a nap on his stream until the queue moved.

    You can miss the home World of Warcraft once was, while still appreciating the beauty in how it’s changed.

    World of Warcraft Classic Realms Is Live

    alt="world of warcraft classic realms is live - line to kill a troll in dun morogh"/>

    My brothers and I are playing Alliance on Mankirk. One of my brothers chose to play a Human Warrior, and I chose to play a Gnome Mage.  Which meant he was playing in the Human starter zone in Elwynn Forest, and I was in the Gnome starter zone in Dun Morogh. We were planning to meet up after finishing our start zone quests.

    The crushing wave of players in our starter zones was N-U-T-S.

    Everywhere I looked I saw people running around like ants. It was thrilling and frustrating because I couldn’t do my first quest to kill wolves. The lag was so bad at some points that other players were randomly appearing beside me.

    It took us about 2 hours to finish the starter zones because of the influx of players.

    Also, we heard from players on our server, and from watching Asmongold’s stream (he was playing on the server Faerlina), that the cities were bugged. The easiest way to get from Dun Morogh to Elwynn Forest is through the tram which connects Ironforge and Stormwind.

    We didn’t want to risk getting disconnected. Plus, after two hours of trying to kill Kobolds in Northshire Valley,  my brother was tired of playing, so his twin brother hopped onto the game instead. I switched to my Night Elf hunter because my other brother had chosen to play a Night Elf Rogue.

    It was a wild ride but I loved every minute of the launch.

    Different Starting Zones

    alt="World of Warcraft Classic Realms is live - lines for quests in Dun Morogh"/>

    When my other brother logged into the game a lot of the mad rush had subsided. We were questing in Teldrassil. It was fun to actually talk to other players in the zone.

    Not only was General Chat full of chatter, but we stopped and talked to other players. Many were enjoying themselves, and a few were missing some of the updated features in retail.

    A lot of players missed the map telling us where our quests were. There were players suggesting to use the add-ons Questie or MonkeyQuest to help find quest objectives. But, everyone noted that Questie wasn’t entirely reliable and that it kept bugging out.

    My brother and I joined a guild. The guildies were nice and friendly and the atmosphere was welcoming. It reminded me so much of Wrath when I first started playing the game.

    Retail WoW has sacrificed the sense of community for the need for convenience. I wish there was a way to take the best parts of both WoW Classic and Retail WoW and mesh them together.

    If Blizzard could figure out how to give us better functionality without sacrificing the game’s heart, then World of Warcraft would become the best it’s ever been.

    I miss my old WoW buddies, but I know they’ve moved on from WoW, and I wish them the best.

  • Poll: The Difference Between WoW Classic and Retail WoW

    Poll: The Difference Between WoW Classic and Retail WoW

    So, what is the difference between WoW Classic and Retail WoW? This is a question that has come up often within the WoW community.

    To put it simply: WoW Classic is the original version of World of Warcraft from fifteen years ago. Before the Cataclysm, the old world not only looked different but had a unique story, as whole quest chains were changed during the Cataclysm expansion.

    Many in the community refer to the original version of World of Warcraft as Vanilla WoW. The original game only offered access to the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor. You were visiting Azeroth before the opening of the Dark Portal, and before the Lich King was defeated in Northrend.

    Now, what is Retail? Well, Retail WoW is a Battle for Azeroth. Basically, Retail WoW is whatever expansion we’re in while playing the current game. We’ve had seven expansions, and now have access to many different continents within the game world. So Retail is where we are in the present-day.

    If you’ve never played Vanilla WoW you might be wondering why fans want to revisit the original game. You’d need to understand first the fundamental differences which make Vanilla WoW and Retail WoW two different games.

    What Is The Difference Between WoW Classic and Retail WoW?

    WoW Classic

    alt="classic wow pre-launch test and interview - orgrimmar"/>

    WoW Classic is a faithful recreation of Vanilla WoW from fifteen years ago before the Cataclysm. World of Warcraft back then was a lot rougher around the edges. There was no Looking for Group (LFR, LFG, etc.).

    Looking for Group is the automated Dungeon Finder tool we have in Retail WoW. The purpose is to help you find a team of random strangers to run group content like dungeons and raids.

    In Vanilla WoW, if you wanted to do a dungeon you had to get a group together on your own. Then you and your group had to trek to the dungeon in the game world. Dungeons today can be done within half an hour, but in Vanilla WoW if you didn’t set aside at least two hours you weren’t going to get much done.

    The game didn’t show you where to find your quests on the map. Quests were written for you to pay attention to the directions. So if a quest told you to find the quest giver in a hut on the hill headed east, then that’s where you were meant to go. There were no helpful dots on your mini-map, and half of the quests in your log couldn’t be tracked.

    When a quest is tracked you can see a helpful yellow dot with a number on your mini-map. The game is telling you where to go to complete the quest.

    Retail WoW has a quest tracker today. This means you can open a list where all of your quests are written. When you click on the mini-map at the top right corner of your screen, the map will have a helpful yellow dot showing you where the quest is located.

    Sharding and cross-realm didn’t exist, so you only could interact with people from your server. This created a sense of community where everyone knew each other. Basically, your server was like a small home town. You knew who the good people were and who the bad apples were.

    Player vs. Player (PvP) combat was more common. The Horde and the Alliance crossed paths as they adventured. Skirmishes were common and friendly rivalries were strong.

    Cybersecurity is crucial especially when playing your favorite games like World of Warcraft. Check out Pure VPN and their top of the line security services. Feel free to learn more by reading Will Using A VPN For WoW Get You Banned?

    WoW Classic Continued

    alt="seven best quest chains in wow classic - cathedral of light in stormwind"/>

    Professions actually mattered because the game was harsher. If you didn’t learn some kind of skill you weren’t going to make much gold. Also, you needed your professions in order to create armor and weapons. For example, a Hunter could become an Engineer to save gold on ammo and to create their own guns.

    Azeroth was a dangerous world. Technically the game world was smaller because you could only adventure to the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor, but because you had no mount until level 40, the game felt larger and more dangerous.

    It certainly didn’t help that mobs could chase after you. Good luck running by a group of murlocs without aggroing the whole village. If you died, you had to run back to your corpse, and the cemetery might be far away.

    Mastering your class was a must. Each class was crucial to certain encounters, and some race and class combinations were better than others. If you didn’t put in the effort to consider abilities from all three talent trees, to learn your rotation, and to have the right armor, you weren’t going to be a good asset to your team.

    The game worked at a slower pace then. Leveling could take weeks or months. If you saw a player with an epic looking tier armor set, you knew they worked hard. There was no transmog so you could tell if someone had on great gear.

    Retail WoW has tramsog. This means you can customize your armor to look the way you want. In Vanilla WoW you couldn’t do this, so if your character looked like a colorful clown you were stuck that way.

    Players looked forward to the companionship that Vanilla WoW provided. Players had to learn to rely on each other because Azeroth was a dangerous world. If they didn’t group up for quests, or help each other gear, then the game wouldn’t have been as fun.

    Vanilla WoW was home.

    What Is The Difference Between WoW Classic and Retail WoW?

    Retail WoW

    alt="what is the difference between wow classic and retail wow - broken isles"/>

    Retail WoW is the modern version of World of Warcraft. It’s a modern style of gameplay. Most players prefer instant gratification. In order to keep up with changing norms, Blizzard has implemented quality of life changes in modern WoW.

    These changes include LFR (Looking for Raid group), cross-realm, sharding, flight, and much more quality of life enhancements. Technically these ideas aren’t all bad. For example, the flight is incredibly fun and a convenient way to travel within a large game world. But, for WoW Classic enthusiasts, quality of life improvements like flight and LFR have ruined the original WoW experience.

    Sharding is like a new digital copy of a zone. So you could be standing in Stormwind, but if you’re sharded to another version of the city, you may see different players.

    Cross-realm is when you can see players who are from a different server than you. Your server is the version of World of Warcraft you play on. North America has about 250 servers alone, and that’s not counting other regions like Oceanic. On retail, I play on the Garona server, but sometimes I’ll see another player with a dash besides their name. The word after the dash is their server.

    Vanilla WoW forced adventures to bond. Retail WoW places more emphasis on speed and convenience than relationships. A player can now travel the whole game world in a matter of minutes rather than hours. You can also level from 1 to 120 without speaking to another player if you choose.

    Professions are now obsolete because we no longer use them. There are a few things certain professions do provide though. If you’re a non-healing class you may want to make or purchase potions, or if you’re a raider you might want to create or purchase a feast. But in general, Retail WoW doesn’t require that kind of skill today.

    Retail WoW Continued

    alt="what is the difference between wow classic and retail wow - draenor"/>

    One major difference between WoW Classic and Retail WoW, is the map lays out the quests. You can skim the quest and still know where you’re going. Completing group quests aren’t required. Most groups are friendly but after the boss encounter is over, everyone goes their separate ways.

    Retail WoW is visually stunning. WoW Classic runs on the Legion engine and tries to replicate the Vanilla WoW look. The game looked darker back in the day. Weather effects like rain were more pronounced. Retail WoW has muted many weather effects, but the visuals are incredibly beautiful and are worth viewing in a 4k resolution.

    Another difference between WoW Classic and retail WoW, is that voice acting is awesome in Retail. On many quest chains now, you’ll hear your favorite heroes speaking to you as you journey. It gives the heroes more life and it’s lovely to hear their voice.

    Class identity isn’t as strong as it was in WoW Classic, but there are certain enhancements worth nothing. If you play a Hunter you don’t have to buy ammo now, and leveling up a Warrior is a lot faster than it was then.

    Retail WoW is a sign of how the gaming industry has changed.

    So, what is the difference between WoW Classic and Retail WoW? And, which one is better?

    Honestly, that answer depends on the player. Some people prefer a harsher game. They look forward to forming shared bonds with players who’re on the same adventure as them.

    Retail WoW is great for today because we’re busier. The fast-paced nature of the game has helped Retail WoW stay competitive in today’s changing environment.

    To know if WoW Classic is right for you, try it out. It’s hard to say which play style a gamer will enjoy better. Being confused about a quest isn’t everyone’s idea of fun. Not everyone wants to be ganked (PvP term for when another player attacks another unsuspecting player) as they adventure. It’s up to you to decide which style of the game matters to you.

    Blizzard Urges Players To Lower Populated WoW Classic Servers

    alt="affiliate disclosure with I"/>

    Lower populated WoW Classic Servers are coming. Yesterday, Blizzard posted on their forums that they’ll be opening new servers on Monday, August 26, 2019.

    The excitement for WoW Classic has been off the charts, so it’s not surprising that Blizzard is opening new servers. Now is the best time to coordinate with friends on where you want to play.

    If you’d like to reserve your character name now you can. Blizzard is allowing players to reserve up to three characters before launch. Once WoW Classic is live then you may have 10 characters per realm. This can help you plan to play on lower populated WoW Classic servers.

    You’ll be allowed to create 50 characters on your account. It doesn’t affect Battle for Azeroth, so you can have 50 characters in both.

    Player vs. Player (PvP) servers are limited to one faction. So make sure you know which server you’d like to play Horde or Alliance on. A lot of new players will be joining us on our adventure in Azeroth, so it’s certainly an exciting time.

    Lower Populated WoW Classic Servers Continued

    alt="Lower Populated WoW Classic Servers - wetlands"/>

    Don’t forget to Subscribe to our mailing list! You’ll be the first to know about the new World of Warcraft news and content!

    Why is Blizzard urging players to lower populated WoW Classic servers? Well, you may want to consider moving to a lower populated WoW Classic servers if you’re going to have a profession. On high-populated or full servers there will be competition for resources. In WoW Classic you’ll want to have a profession.

    Some professions will require you to mine ore. Every player on your server shares the ore that you mine. It will be difficult to mine as much ore as you want if you’re not on lower populated WoW Classic servers.

    Also, questing may be difficult. Although Blizzard is implementing layering and they said they have a “contingency plan in place” should the need arise for more servers, please be aware questing in WoW Classic is different from retail WoW.

    Unless you’re on lower populated WoW Classic servers, tagging mobs could make it difficult for you to receive credit for kills. In a high-populated zone, this could be a problem if there are too many players going after one target. This could also rob you of valuable loot if too many people target the same mob.

    Honestly, all players are free to choose what kind of server they wish to play on. So if you don’t move to a lower populated WoW Classic servers, be aware of the consequences of playing on a full or high-populated server. You’re going to have fun either way. See you in Azeroth!

    Blizzard is expecting a lengthy log-in queue. Popular servers such as Herod could have an excess of 10,000 players trying to access the server. The developers are urging players to consider moving to low populated realms to help ease the server load. So far Blizzard has opened several new Player vs. Player (PvP) servers to meet demand.

    Server transfers were available in Vanilla WoW, so the developers are considering them as possible. But, they mentioned in the AMA, that they’re also aware that server identity is a huge part of WoW Classic. Their intent isn’t to mess up the server identity.

    They also said character transfers are the only service they’re considering at this time, and that character boosts won’t be a thing in Classic. But the team said they have contingency plans in place if they must add more servers during the launch.

    Server Population: Layering vs. Sharding

    alt="WoW Classic servers ama and answered questions - durotar"/>

    The WoW Classic developers were asked several questions about server populations. One of those burning questions was the difference between layering and sharding.

    Layering helps to reduce server load. A huge amount of players in Northshire cause more problems then if they were spread throughout Elwynn Forest. The developers have to anticipate the problems, but they’re hoping to reduce the layering as time goes on.

    If you’re in a layer, you’ll stay in that layer the whole time you play. The only time you’ll transfer layers is if a player from another layer invites you to a group. Also, if you’re logged out the game for too long then when you relog you’ll be in another layer.

    Now, sharding exists in retail WoW and is different because it helps to balance the server. If you’re in a zone with too many people, then you can be sharded to another version of the zone. But, if you’re in a zone with not enough people, you can also be sharded to a version of the zone which has more players. For example, if you turn on Warmode, you’ll only see players with Warmorde turned on. Basically, the game has sharded you and other players with the same mindset and goals to the same version of your zone.

    I’m glad the WoW Classic developers cleared up the confusion. Especially since sharding is such a hot button topic within the WoW community.

    From the way, they described layering it makes sense why we need it. Without layering the game could crash, and the players won’t be able to play. I’m glad they’re being proactive in addressing the problem before it arises.

    Take a look at these amazing Horde and Alliance Decals available on Amazon.com.

    What’s Next?

    alt="mulgore"/>

    After phase 6 of the WoW Classic content release schedule, the developers haven’t decided what to do next. They could add more content to Classic or they could move on to the next two expansions.

    We all know that The Burning Crusade (TBC) and Wrath of the Lich King (Wrath) expansions could follow WoW Classic.

    They know diehard WoW Classic fans don’t want the servers to be upgraded to TBC or Wrath. So they’re going to be listening to the community to see which direction to go in next.

    Some fans are already asking for Blizzard to create separate TBC and Wrath servers. Honestly, this probably is the best solution, so players who’d like to continue playing Classic can, while other players can transfer their level 60 character and move on.

    World of Warcraft’s first six years is when the game was at its peak. There are fans who blame flying and LFG for current WoW’s decline, but the community was still strong in TBC and Wrath.

    It would be a shame if the WoW Classic developers don’t consider creating TBC and Wrath servers. Most WoW players have memories from playing all three expansions.

    Wrath was such a famous expansion, it wouldn’t feel right if they don’t recreate those servers at some point.

    But, please feel free to disagree with me and leave a comment below. What should the developers do after phase 6 is released for WoW Classic?

    Seven Best Quest Chains in WoW Classic

    1. Mankirk’s Wife

    alt="seven best quest chains in wow classic - the barrens"/>

    Now, we’re going to begin the five best quest chains in WoW Classic with an old favorite, but Mankirk’s Wife isn’t a long chain. It’s worth mentioning because it becomes a running joke within the community. It’s a Horde only quest available in the Barrens. You’ll find Mankirk at the Crossroads southern entrance. He’ll give you two quests, one to kill quillboars and the other to find his wife. Mankirk will tell you a story about how he and his wife were overrun while fighting the quillboars. He lost sight of her and asks you to help him find her. The quest has a sad end, but I won’t reveal it so you can discover it for yourself.

    2. The Hermit

    alt="wow classic sharding it's coming'/>

    The Hermit is a quest chain that happens in Darkshire in the Alliance zone Duskwood. You need to be level 20 to pick this quest up from Elaine Carevin. She asks you to check a shack on Raven Hill. The old hermit, Abercrombie, resides there and Elaine’s concerned because she hasn’t heard from him in a while.

    Abercrombie, the hermit, sends you on many errands around Duskwood. You’ll speak to other residents of Duskwood as you run errands and learn more about his secret. At the end of the quest chain, a very gruesome surprise waits for you, and it will attack the town, where only you and a small army of Night Watch can protect the citizens.

    It’s a fun quest chain and I won’t reveal the gruesome details, so you can have fun discovering them for yourself.

    3. Fallen Hero of the Horde

    alt="seven best quest chains in wow classic - fallen hero of the horde npc"/>

    This epic quest chain begins with a neutral Orc NPC, called the Fallen Hero of the Horde, located in the Swamp of Sorrows. The Fallen Hero of the Horde is a large chain with four parts. Both the Horde and the Alliance have different starting quests for the chain, but most of the quest chain is neutral. The NPC stands beside the road which leads out of the swamp into the south, where he warns travelers about the dangers in the Blasted Lands. He and his men were consumed by the horrors which resided within the zone. This chain is about 20 quests long, but it’s so worth it just because of the sheer scale of the questline.

    4. The Missing Diplomat

    alt="seven best quest chains in wow classic - cathedral of light in stormwind"/>

    Next in the seven best quest chains in WoW Classic is the Missing Diplomat which is an Alliance quest chain. You pick this up from Thomas an altar boy in the Cathedral of Light in Stormwind. The altar boy tells you that Bishop DeLavey is searching for an adventurer with discretion. The bishop is located in Stormwind Keep. When you arrive you have an audience with Bishop DeLavey. He tells you that a diplomat was sent to Theramore to meet with Jaina Proudmoore, but they never arrived.

    He says the king already has people on the case, but he wants to employ his own contacts. So, the bishop hands you a letter and sends you off to speak with Jorgen in the Valley of Heroes. This quest chain spans about three to four levels and will take you through both the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor. It’s not to be missed and the ending of the quest chain is exciting, but I won’t reveal too much.

    alt="for the alliance pin"/>

    5. The Great Masquerade

    alt="seven best quest chains in wow classic - stormwind gates"/>

    Number 5 in the seven best quest chains in WoW Classic, begins with the Dragonkin Menace quest. It’s an Alliance only quest chain, and you must complete this in order to receive the Drakefire Amulet which is the key to Onxyia’s Lair. The Great Masquerade will require you to visit Blackrock Depths, take part in a major event in Stormwind City, and raid in Upper Blackrock Spire. It’s a long chain but it’s so worth doing just for the Stormwind event alone, as it affects the whole area.

    6. Hecular’s Revenge

    alt="seven best quest chains in wow classic - hillsbrad foothills"/>

    There was no way I could do the seven best quest chains in WoW Classic without including this quest. Hecular’s Revenge is a Horde only quest. It’s not a long quest chain but it’s epic. To do this chain, pick up the first quest ‘Hecular’s Revenge’ from Novice Thaivand in Tarren Mill. He’ll ask you to find Hecular‘s old staff. When you do locate the staff, you’ll have to charge it up and then plant it at Hecular’s grave. This summons the undead mage into Southshore where he can finally have his revenge, which he takes out on the Alliance. Be sure to check out this quest, especially if there are Alliance players nearby.

    7. Linken

    alt="un'goro crater"/>

    For the final quest chain, in this seven best quest chains in WoW Classic post, we’re going to talk about Linken. This questline is a Legend of Zelda reference and you need to be level 47. Linken is in Un’Goro Crater and he’s easy to miss. Begin the questline at a wrecked raft, which is located along the shore of a small pond in the northeast part of Un’Goro. This quest is one of those awesome chains which takes you to more than one zone. You’ll travel throughout Kalimdor as you follow the trail from the raft.

    There are many side quests to complete within the chain, but you’ll be awarded a lot of experience. It’s a huge quest line and feels epic. Eventually, the quest will send you to Winterspring, which only has one pathway accessing it. This path is overrun by hostile furblogs, so you’ll want to be careful.

    Professions In WoW Classic And Why You Need One

    Vanilla WoW isn’t like retail WoW today. So I’m going to explain Professions in WoW Classic and why you need one. Professions aren’t mandatory, but you’ll be glad you leveled it.

    When you have a profession you can earn gold, create armor for yourself and allies, and help your guild by providing supplies. Professions are divided into two categories which include gathering and crafting.

    There’s no rule-book on which professions you learn. But generally, you want to choose one gathering and one crafting profession. You’ll need the patience to gather the materials and make gold on the auction house.

    Before you choose a profession, you’ll want to consider why you want it. Are you planning to make gold, or are you trying to make things for yourself? Now, you can do both of those things, but if you primarily want to make gold, then two gathering professions may be the way to go.

    The beautiful thing about WoW classic is there’s no limit on your freedom. So you can choose to have professions or not, and it’s entirely up to you.

    So, you’re going to choose two primary professions and several secondary professions. I’ll explain the difference between primary and secondary professions below.

    To find a professions trainer in a major city (Orgrimmar or Stormwind) speak to a guard and they can point you in the right direction.

    Professions in WoW Classic and Why You Need One

    Primary Professions: Gathering

    alt="the most interesting zones in wow classic - mulgore"/>

    To begin the topic professions in WoW Classic and why you need one, we’re going to discuss gathering professions. Gathering professions can net you a huge profit. Most crafting professions require a lot of materials in order to make something, and players can only gather so much on their own. Being in a guild can help though, because guild members may place materials in the guild bank.

    Mining

    alt="professions in wow classic and why you need one - ironforge"/>

    Mining for ore is a primary gathering profession. This pairs well with the crafting professions Engineering and Blacksmithing. As an apprentice miner, you’ll be mining Copper ore. Each time you mine you’ll earn experience points for the profession, and as you level to new zones, you’ll be mining different types of ore.

    Visit a mining trainer to become an apprentice. You’ll need to purchase a mining pick which you’ll keep in your bags at all times. Without your mining pick, you won’t be able to mine ore.

    There’s competition for mining ore though, so be aware if you’re on a high population server. The best times to mine ore are when the server isn’t as busy like late at night or early morning.

    Sometimes when you mine a vein, you’ll also receive a smooth stone and other materials. These mats can be used by different crafting professions so you’ll want to hang on to them, especially if you’re selling on the auction house.

    You’ll need a Blacksmithing hammer in order to smelt ore into bars. Always remember to keep your hammer on you, or you won’t be able to use the forge.

    Have a toast to the Alliance when you discover this JINX World of Warcraft Alliance Ceramic Coffee Mug at Amazon.com.

    Herbalism

    alt="most interesting zones classic - barrens"/>

    Herbalist gathers herbs which can be used in the crafting profession Alchemy. Potions in WoW Classic are more important than they are in retail, so you can make money here. Don’t forget that potions provide buffs and a way to heal while in combat.

    If you learn the Herbalism profession, you’ll be gathering plants from all over Azeroth. There’s competition for plant gatherers too. So, be aware if you’re on a high population server, it’ll be a little tough.

    As a Herbalist, you can place your plants in an herb pouch. The higher your Herbalism skill is will determine how quickly you gather herbs. Herbalism is a great profession to learn if you’re trying to make money, or if you’re going to be an Alchemist.

    Skinning

    alt="professions in wow classic and why you need one - tauren hunter"/>

    Skinning pairs well with the crafting profession Leatherworking. The awesome thing about skinning is that you rarely compete with other players for materials. Almost any beast in World of Warcraft can be skinned, but you have to loot them first.

    Visit a Skinning trainer to learn the profession. You’ll need to purchase a skinning knife which you’ll keep in your bags at all times. The more you skin beasts, then the faster you’ll level your profession.

    As a skinner, you’ll start out collecting light leathers and hides. Leatherworkers need a lot of leather to create armor, so the possibilities to make money are big. If you’re going to use the auction house to make gold be sure to pay attention to the economy on your server.

    Lok’Tar Ogar! Be sure to have a pint with this JINX World of Warcraft Horde Ceramic Coffee Mug on Amazon.com.

    Crafting Professions

    alt="classic wow pre-launch test and interview - orgrimmar"/>

    Next, for the professions in WoW Classic and why you need one topic, we’re going to cover crafting. Crafting professions pair great with a gathering profession because you’ll be able to farm your own materials. Crafters can create armor, potions, and toys. If you’re in a guild, check your guild bank to see if guildies have left anything useful inside.

    Enchanting

    alt="wow classic beginners guid darnassus"/>

    Enchanting is a profession that pairs well with Tailoring. When you’re an enchanter, you can enchant cloth and weapons to give them better protection and stats. You’ll also be able to make wands.

    The profession is difficult to level, but once you reach a high enough level you make a lot of money. Normally I just disenchant the clothing items I create from Tailoring, and then I use the dust, essence, or nexus crystal to enchant more articles of clothing. By doing it this way, it helps me save materials.

    Tailoring

    alt="classic wow beginners guide windrider"/>

    A tailor makes clothing, and this profession pairs well with Enchanting. Cloth-wearing classes like Mages, Warlocks, and Priests benefit from this profession.

    Visit a trainer to learn the Tailoring profession. In order to create armor pieces, you’ll need to farm cloth from mobs. Most humanoid mobs drop cloth in the game world. The drop rates can vary depending on the enemy, which means you might have to use the auction house to buy more cloth.

    Many Tailoring recipes require you to purchase materials from vendors. Some of these materials include dyes and threads. Most of these materials fairly cheap, but leveling professions, in general, can be pricey.

    Leatherworking

    alt="professions in wow classic and why you need one - lordaeron"/>

    Leatherworking pairs well with Skinning. Druids, Rogues, Shamans, and Hunters wear leather armor, but Shamans and Hunters will eventually learn to wear mail. Once your Leatherworking is a high enough level you can create mail armor pieces.

    The great thing about this profession is if you paired it with Skinning it’s easier to grind the leather. Almost every beast in the game is skinnable, but make sure you have your skinning knife, and that you’ve looted the corpse.

    You’ll need leather, cloth, dye, and thread to make armor. Dye and thread are easy to get from vendors. If you’re not in a guild or have an alt with Tailoring, you may need to use the auction house for the cloth.

    Blacksmithing

    alt="professions in wow classic and why you need one - stormwind"/>

    Mining pairs well with Blacksmithing. A blacksmith can make the plate and mail armor,  as well as weapons like axes and swords. Warriors and Paladins are plate-wearing classes.

    You’ll be using a forge to create armor. Blacksmithing will require you to carry a blacksmith’s hammer on you at all times. Be careful not to sell your hammer, or you won’t be able to smelt ore and create gear.

    Once you reach level 40 and your Blacksmithing skill has reached level 200, you can choose to specialize. Blacksmiths can become Armorsmiths or Weaponsmiths. Be aware that once you make this choice you can never go back. So be sure you know what your heart is set on before you decide.

    Engineering

    alt="professions in wow classic and why you need one - dwarven district stormwind"/>

    Engineers can make fun stuff like toys. They can also make guns, which is useful for the Hunter class. This profession pairs well with mining, as you’re going to need ore to make machines.

    Once you reach level 30 and if you’ve raised your engineering skill, then you can specialize in Gnomish or Goblin Engineering. Engineers make a lot of fun gadgets and gizmos. They can also increase their Damage Per Second (DPS) by creating and using bombs.

    As an Engineer, you can create a repair bot. This is incredibly helpful in group settings where everyone needs to repair, but the nearest vendor is far away.

    Hunters can benefit from Engineering from being able to craft their own guns and ammo. In the game, ammo can be expensive, especially when buying the best ones at higher levels.

    You can make a parachute to help falling long distances, and also learn to create fireworks for amusement. Fun is a good point to be made for the professions in WoW Classic and why you need one. Any profession where you have fun is a must.

    Professions In WoW Classic And Why You Need One

    Secondary Professions

    alt="chef nomi cooking"/>

    A secondary profession is something everyone can learn. You can have two primary professions, and obtain all of the secondary professions. These professions are important to help you level through the game. They give you the tools you need to be independent and self-sufficient.

    Cooking

    Cooking is a great example of professions in WoW Classic and why you need them. WoW Classic will require you to eat more often when you take damage, and you’ll also want buff foods to increase your stats.

    Retail WoW doesn’t rely on secondary professions. The exceptions are if you raid or do PvP because you might still need buff foods for those activities. But, if you’re only questing in retail, you probably don’t need to sweat it.

    WoW Classic has cooking recipes scattered throughout the game world. Always be sure to check in with vendors in towns and settlements, because you never know what recipes you’ll find.

    Cooking will require you to create a campfire if you’re not standing by a hearth, campfire, or brazier. To create a fire you’ll need flint and tinder and Simple Wood.

    You’ll need meat, fish, and other materials to make dishes. Fishing is the easiest way to level up Cooking fast. If you level up your Fishing at the same time as your Cooking, you’ll knock out two birds with one stone.

    At high levels, Cooking is essential for end-game content. Players will need the buffs that cooked food provides for their stats. So if you’ve leveled up the profession you’ll make money on the auction house.

    If you’d like to discover what Azerothian dishes taste like, be sure to check out our review on the World of Warcraft official cookbook.

    Fishing

    alt="troll viliage"/>

    Fishing requires you to have a fishing rod. You’ll need to unequip your weapon to fish. Just drag the fishing button to the action bar and you can start fishing. It’s best to start fishing in a low-level zone so you can level up your fishing skill.

    While your fishing bobber is in the water, a blue bar will appear on your screen. As the bar reaches the end, your bobber might shake. When that happens, right-click on the bobber and pull out your fish.

    Sometimes you’ll fish up other items like pearls. Your fishing skill will determine how successful your catches will be. Different zones have different types of fish. You can fish in the sea, ponds, lakes, and rivers. Some fish are swim in schools, which look like circles in the water.

    To increase your chances of catching a fish you can buy a lure. The lure is optional though and not required.

    First-Aid

    alt="professions in wow classic and why you need one"/>

    Lastly in the professions in WoW Classic and why you need one, you’re going to want First-Aid. Bandages can be used in combat and you’re going to go through a lot of them. First-Aid also teaches you how to create an anti-venom potion, but it’s not as strong as what Alchemist makes.

    The cloth is used to make bandages and cloth drops from most humanoids. Be sure to check the auction house if you need more cloth. First-aid is helpful in group situations because healing yourself can make a healer’s life easier.

    Classes like Warriors and Rogues who don’t have healing spells can use bandages while they quest. Bandages do have a cooldown though, so once you use one, you must wait one minute to use another one.

    Good Luck

    alt="wetlands"/>

  • Best Addons For WoW Classic (Updated)

    Best Addons For WoW Classic (Updated)

    alt="affiliate disclosure with I"/>

    WoW Classic is rough around the edges, but that’s part of its charm. But, if you’d like to use addons to make your questing experience easier, then be sure to download the Twitch client.

    When you look for new add-ons on Twitch, you’ll want to search for ‘WoW Classic’ or ‘Classic WoW’. The client doesn’t differentiate WoW addons so you’ll have to be specific. When you update your addons, change the game from retail to classic. It’s easy to miss so be sure you check the right side of the client, underneath your name.

    The best addons for WoW Classic will improve your play experience. There’s no requirement to use addons, so if you’re a newbie to WoW don’t worry about them. Addons are there to aid your gameplay, but they aren’t a requirement.

    Don’t forget to Subscribe if you enjoy our content! We at Warcraftlover are dedicated to providing you with the most up-to-date World of Warcraft news and content.

    alt="why do you love wow classic"/>

    Questing Addons

    For questing, you’re going to want addons that help you find the quests easier. Questing in Classic WoW is different than retail, where the game places helpful markers on the map.

    Coordinates by TomCat’s tours is the first addon I installed. It’s a life-saver when I’m looking up a quest on Wowhead. Most players give the coordinates of where to find a quest giver or reward, and WoW Classic doesn’t include coordinates on the map. You may want to download this addon to make your play experience smoother.

    Questie and MonkeyQuest are great addons to try for questing. These addons track available quests and objectives. If you’re worried about finding stuff on the map, try the addons SimpleMap and TourGuide. SimpleMap can make your map transparent, which is helpful when you’re trying not to get lost, and TourGuide will tell you how to find enemies you need to kill.

    alt="for the alliance pin"/>

    Dungeons, Raids, and PvP

    Player vs. Player (PvP) combat is more common in WoW Classic than retail. Spy Classic is a helpful addon that alerts you when enemy players are nearby. If the addon detects an enemy player, it’ll let you know their class, race, and level. You can configure the addon to announce enemy players in chat too.

    WoW Classic is designed with group content in mind. So you’re going to want to download Deadly Boss Mods (DBM) for Classic. DBM is required in retail WoW for most raid teams, and it won’t be much different in Classic. With DBM the addon will alert you to enemy attacks, which will give you a chance to dodge or get ready for the next phase.

    In order to measure your Damage Per Second (DPS), you’ll want to install Recount Classic to your game. Most players use this addon in retail WoW to help them know if their DPS is where it should be. Without a high enough DPS output, your character won’t do enough damage in group settings, which could cause your groups to struggle more against bosses in encounters.

    If you don’t want to sit around in major cities looking for a group, then you could try ClassicLFG. This controversial addon won’t send you to the instance, but it will help you find other players searching for a group. Many WoW fans credit LFG, LFR, sharding, and many other reasons for retail WoW’s decline. But, if you’d like an easier way to find a group than Classic LFG is for you.

    Regular Add-ons

    alt="best addons for wow classic - tirisfal glades"/>

    TitanPanel Classic is an addon that allows you to add two information bars to your screen. The menus are easy to use and provide a method to change features when you want.

    WeakAuras 2 Classic is a powerful add-on that you’ll enjoy. The add-on has the power to display information on a screen. So if you’d like to know when your debuff is up it’ll tell you. With WeakAuras you’ll be able to customize your screen any way you wish. It’s a great addon to install in both WoW Classic and retail WoW.

    Bagnon will help you open all your bags at once. The addon also allows you to view all your characters bags. If you’re a player who’s always jumping between characters it’ll save you time. Bagnon also adds a colored border to your items. Which means green items have a green border. This will help you know what to sell to vendors and the Auction House.

    Auctioneer will help you with the Auction House. This addon shows you what’s currently selling. You can set the addon to help you sell your products. Playing the Auction House takes practice. Undercutting your competition can earn you money, but you may lose money if you don’t watch the trends.

    VendorPrice is a useful addon. It displays the price of an item when not at a vendor. Now you’ll know when to delete an item if your bags are full.

    Bartender4 allows you to fully customize your action bar. This includes all of your action bars and your pets action bars too. You can also customize your experience bar. SpartanUIClassic can be used in conjunction with Bartender4 to make your UI look sleek.
