BlizzCon 2019 Virtual Ticket And Warcraft Cinematic Artbook

BlizzCon 2019 Virtual tickets went on sale yesterday. For just $49.99 you can watch the convention from the comfort of your home. The best part is the in-game goodies that came with the ticket, but more on that in a bit. Gamespot interviewed Blizzard President J. Allen Brack about Blizzard Entertainment’s future. Many questions dealt with the direction the company is headed. Also, the Cinematic Art of World of Warcraft: Volume I is releasing this month.

BlizzCon is next month and I’m so excited. We may have a new expansion announcement, and I’m hoping to hear about patch 8.3. Rumors say that we’ll be visiting the Shadowlands in the next expansion. We’ll have to wait until BlizzCon for our answer. A month isn’t too long to wait though. It’ll be here before we know it. For now we can enjoy our new Wendigo Woolies which came with the virtual BlizzCon ticket.

Purchasing the virtual BlizzCon ticket will give you in-game rewards. These include transmogrifiable Wendigo Woolies and in-game pets. Fans have been having a great time showcasing their cute but deadly toons on Twitter. The woolie wasn’t the only fun part. Murlocs themed after Sylvanas (Gilvanas) and Anduin (Finduin) were also added. These unique pets are super fun.

The virtual ticket is usable on November 1st and 2nd. During the convention, you’ll be able to watch the All-Access Channel. There will be Community Night contests on Friday. Also, there will be bonus panel content for all your favorite games.

Gamespot Interviews Blizzard President J. Allen Brack

So, besides the exciting BlizzCon 2019 virtual ticket this week, we also got a new interview. Gamespot’s Tamoor Hussain interviewed Blizzard President J. Allen Brack. Brack said announcing WoW Classic was hugely satisfying at BlizzCon two years ago. He said that the company didn’t believe they would recreate WoW Classic. They decided in 2017 that they were going to do it.

Blizzard has had a rough year with layoffs and shake-ups at the executive level. Brack wants to reassure fans that Blizzard still honors it’s core values. He said:

What I think is important for people to know is the values that have built this place and built Blizzard are still the same values. – Blizzard President J. Allen Brack

Most of the article is the usual corporate speak. In other words, great questions were asked, but some evasive answers were given. The biggest takeaway from this interview is that Blizzard learned from their mistakes. They gave the fandom WoW Classic. If you’re a Diablo fan, the company is acknowledging that they didn’t present the mobile game well. It made perfect sense that Diablo fans would be angry when they’ve waited so long for Diablo 4. Hopefully, Blizzard focuses mainly on PC games moving forward, and they don’t forget to listen to their consumers.

Blizzard is releasing the Cinematic Art of World of Warcraft: Volume I on October 15th. This stunning book has pictures and history behind the amazing cinematics in the game. It’s certainly a must grab because the cinematic team always does a fantastic job. In Battle for Azeroth, the cinematics feel like a movie. It’d be awesome if a Warcraft movie or Netflix show was made in the cinematic art style. Blizzard’s cinematics has always had a realistic, but epic feels to them.

The book has 250-pages of jaw-dropping art, design, and history. You’ll receive a first-hand glimpse at how Warcraft has changed throughout the years from an artist’s perspective. The cinematic history goes from the game’s launch until the Warlords of Draenor expansion. There’s an incredible amount of detail placed into every cinematic. This book is jam-packed with art, character quotes, design ideas, and storyboard concepts.
