WoW Classic DDoS Attacker In Custody

The WoW Classic DDoS attacker is in custody. On September 7, 2019, Blizzard servers were the target of a DDoS attack. The attacker claimed to be apart of the group UkDrillas.  This caused players and Blizzard a major headache. For many players, the weekends are the only time to play. These types of attacks aren’t amusing in the slightest. Players lose valuable time, and Blizzard loses money. Thankfully he’s been caught.

What is a DDoS Attack?

DDoS stands for Distributed Denial of Service. When an attack strikes it overloads the system with Trojans. This would crash any computer system or server. Blizzard community manager Kaivax posted on the forums where he confirmed the culprit had been caught.

UkDrillas isn’t the first group to attack Blizzard. Just last year another attacker was sentenced. The sentence was for a year in prison, and he was also charged a $30,000 fine. He pleaded guilty for one count of causing damage to a protected computer. It’s really not worth going to jail for attacking Blizzard’s servers.
