CORSAIR Scimitar Pro RGB, Product Overview

Every day in World of Warcraft looks the same. I do my world quests, level my heart of Azeroth, and then I run a raid. Any MMO gamer knows we have so many buttons we press, especially in a single raid or PvP encounter. Depending on your class you not only have to worry about your rotation, you also must heal your allies, and you may focus on crowd control. That’s a lot of buttons to smash. The Corsair Scimitar Pro RGB makes that easier with its 12 programmable side buttons, and its key slider macro button control system. The textured side button keycaps provide enhanced grip and feel, which is needed in tough raids like Azshara’s Eternal Palace. The mouse has 8 mm of key travel which ensures every button stays in place. It also features onboard storage with hardware micro feedback, and an 16,000 DPI optical sensor, which is an ultra-accurate and high-speed tracking engine.

Sure it’s an Expensive Mouse, But the Benefits Are Unreal

I know all the technical jargon such as DPI can be confusing, so allow me to break it down for you. DPI means Dots Per Inch and it refers to the number of pixels your cursor can move. It’s directly tied to the size of your screen, so if you play World of Warcraft on a large screen, then you need more DPI. You want to match the DPI to your user style, your screen size, and your play style. Your sensitivity style also plays an important role, this is the way in which you move your mouse. If you make low sweeping movements, then your DPI is about 400-800. But, if you have a medium sensitivity, which is a combination of arm and wrist hand, fall between low and high, then your DPI is about 400-1000. If you have a high sensitivity, which means you use your hand and wrist to make movements while not moving you whole arm, then your DPI is 1000+.

The Corsair Scimtar Pro RGB also features an optical sensor. So, what is an optical sensor you might ask? Good question! An optical sensor is an LED light used to illuminate a surface. A mouse can use ether an optical sensor or a laser one. Generally, you want to buy an optical mouse, because a laser one may read a surface too accurately which may cause jitter. This could be troublesome during slow movements. But optical mouse is more accurate, so this is why the Corsair Schimitar Pro RGB is a great option for your gaming needs.

It Doesn’t Just Clicks Though, It’s Everything

Besides the amazing specs though, this mouse is everything. You can customize the mouse with up to three different DPI settings. With the adjustable key slider system, you can move the 12 customizable keys wherever you want them. This is huge if you’re into raiding or PvP. Just imagine how much your DPS output could increase by a split second. Plus, the 12 customizable side buttons are designed for consistent tactile feedback and will respond immediately to your barest whim. Don’t forget you can customize your mouse, which means it can change colors with special lighting effects and match your setup.

Setup Has a Few Bumps Though…

The Corsair Scimitar Pro RGB uses the iCue Software like all Corsair products. Although the mouse is fine, the software can be tricky to use for some customers. There are complaints that the setup process is clunky and invasive. If you purchase this mouse, be sure to check out Youtube for help on how to setup the iCue software, as it appears to have a steep learning curve. But, once everything is working the way it should be, the lighting effects make everything worthwhile.

    Pros:

#1: The Corsair Scimitar Pro RGB has an optical sensor which means its more accurate.

#2: It has 12 customizable buttons which is important for long World of Warcraft rotations and macros.

#3: The textured side buttons makes them easier to grip.

    Cons:

#1: iCue Software is challenging for some customers to setup.

#2: The mouse isn’t ambidextrous which could make it difficult for left-handed customers to use.

alt="corsair scimitar pro rgb amazon page"/>

I am a believer in this mouse, and I know many gamers absolutely LOVE their Corsair Scimitar Pro RGB. One definite drawback is the iCue software because many customers have complained about needing to head over to Youtube to learn how to install it, but you do get a quality mouse so you get what you pay for here. For the sake of convenience (and a higher DPS score), having a mouse suited for gaming will benefit you in the long run, especially if you’re planning to raid more often, or participate in more PvP matches. If this mouse sounds appealing to you, I highly recommend you get your own Corsair Scimitar Pro RGB. You’ll probably want to grab the best gaming PC too. Best Buy has them in stock (but they’re overpriced), and if you’re an online shopper like myself, Amazon has the best deals on this mouse. I hope you enjoyed this review, and if you have questions about the Corsair Scimitar Pro RGB, or want to leave your own personal review, please leave a comment below.

World of Warcraft Official Cookbook: Product Overview

World of Warcraft is a massive game, and the world of Azeroth is host to many fine cuisines. As you level up a character, then you can choose to learn the cooking profession.

There are many awesome meals your adventurer can learn to cook. They’re all unique to the world of Azeroth. The game really captures the feel of being in the wilderness and having to hunt and cook your own meal.

The official cookbook is written by Chelsea Monroe-Cassel. She also wrote A Feast of Ice and Fire: The Official Game of Thrones Companion Cookbook.

Chelsea is great at choosing ingredients which reminds me of the wilds. Not only do the pictures in the book look just like the game, but the food looked just like the book once it was completed. My brothers and I worked together to cook our Azerothian meal, and we had a blast.

We choose to cook the Crispy Bat Wings and the Buzzard Bites. From the pictures, the Crispy Bat Wings looked delicious. I wasn’t so sure about the Buzzard Bites, to be honest, but my brother was excited, so we stuck with it.

The whole process did take longer than I expected, especially because we had to make the wings crispy in the oven.

Buzzard Bites were simple, once you mixed the ground turkey with the ingredients and created the meatballs, then you placed them in the oven to cook.

    Crispy Bat Wings: Overview

alt="world of warcraft official cookbook crispy bat wings"/>

The Crispy Bat Wings weren’t hard to make. We coated the chicken in salt and baking powder mixture, and then we laid them out on a cookie sheet. Afterward, we tossed the chicken wings into the oven and let them cook.

We ran into problems at this point, because the wings didn’t want to brown. So, we had to wait a while for the wings to finish cooking.

When we finally removed the wings from the oven, they weren’t as brown as we wanted, but I made the glaze and coated the top.

Once, the glaze was on the chicken, then I replaced the wings in the oven for a few more minutes.

When we finally sat down to taste the wings, they had a sticky feel. The wings had an outdoorsy and smoky taste, which reminded me of wood and apples.

Overall, the wings weren’t my favorite, but my brothers really enjoyed them.

    Buzzard Bites: Overview

alt="world of warcraft official cookbook buzzard bites"/>

Buzzard Bites are meatballs. These snacks are large. So be aware if you’re full you won’t have room to eat these.

The Buzzard Bites were made with ground turkey. We mixed the ground turkey in a bowl with the ingredients, and then we formed the meatballs.

We placed the meatballs on the tray and let them cook in the oven. Once we removed them from the oven, we coated the meatballs in a ketchup and apple cider vinegar mixture. The mixture gave the Buzzard Bites a sheen.

Now, I was excited to taste the Buzzard Bites, but when I placed them in my mouth, I was disappointed. Ground turkey isn’t my favorite and for me, the taste was too strong in the recipe.

My brothers liked the Buzzard Bites and thought the taste reminded them of a slightly sweet and sour taste because of the sauce. It also tasted like a healthier food option because of the ground turkey.

Classic WoW Beginners Guide Story Pt. 2

    alt="affiliate disclosure with I"/>

Hi guys! Welcome to the final post in the Classic WoW Beginners guide story. In part one of the final guide, I discussed the lore (story) for the Alliance races.

As a reminder, World of Warcraft begins four years after Warcraft III (the third war) ends. The races of Azeroth saved the world. After the Battle for Mount Hyjal was won, we entered four years of shaky peace. It wasn’t long before the residents of Azeroth were fighting again. Tensions were high. Skirmishes broke out throughout the world.

The Orcs settled in Durotar. Thrall wanted to find a home for the New Horde. They were joined by the Tauren, Darkspear Trolls, and the Forsaken (undead).

    The Drums of War: Horde

    For The Horde!

    Orcs

    alt="horde ships in harbor"/>

The Orcs are a strong and honorable race. They’re from the world Draenor and have powerful shamanistic roots. Shamans call on the primordial elements. Orcs rely heavily on traditions, and they value strength and protecting bonds.

Warchief Thrall was the leader of the new Horde in Vanilla WoW. He wanted to make a home for his people. The Horde was called the ‘New Horde’ because it was no longer being controlled by demons.

Before the old Orcish Horde invaded Azeroth their leader, Elder Shaman Ner’zhul, made a blood pact with Kil’jaeden the Deceiver, who was a demon. As a result, the blood created a thirst for battle within the Orcs which couldn’t be quenched. Which caused them to embark on a murderous rampage through Draenor as they slaughtered Draenei.

Kil’jaeden traveled to Azeroth. He sought out the Guardian Medivh, who was the last Guardian of Tirisfal. The Guardian’s mind was shackled to the Burning Legions will, because a piece of the Spirit Lord Sargeras possessed Medivh.

Medivh opened the Dark Portal. The Orcs burst through the portal and invaded Azeroth. Thus begins the first war.

During the first war, the Orcs laid siege to Azeroth. In the Orcs crazed blood lust, they destroyed the Kingdom of Stormwind. Then preceded to head north toward Ironforge. But, not all the Orcs drunk the blood. Orgrim Doomhammer and Durotan refused to drink.

    Horde Continued: Thrall’s Fate

Sadly, Durotan and his wife, Draka, were killed as they were being escorted to a safe haven. But Thrall, their son, survived. Aedelas Blackmoore discovered the Orcling among the remains of his parents and took him in.

Blackmoore named him ‘Thrall’ which means slave in human language. He then raised the Orc in Durnholde Keep as a gladiator to make him money.

Durnholde Keep was one of the many internment camps ran by Blackmoore. Thrall escaped from Durnholde Keep, because of the aid of a friend, Taretha Foxton, and adventurers.

Once Thrall was free, it wasn’t long before ex-guardian Medivh, found the young Orc and told him of a prophecy. He told Thrall to head to the distant and ancient lands of Kalimdor because a threat was coming.

The threat was the Burning Legion, and this was the third war. Thrall worked alongside Jaina Proudmoore and the Alliance at the Battle for Mount Hyjal. But, although the Orcs helped to save Azeroth, the Night Elves weren’t too pleased to have them cutting down their forests. Night Elves are protective of their ancestral homelands and of nature.

So, this led to the Orcs and Night Elves having squabbles in Ashenvale, because of the Horde’s lumber operations.

    Classic WoW Beginners Guide: Tauren

alt="Classic WoW Beginners Guide photo of thunderbluff"/>

Tauren is a noble and ancient race. They worship the Earth Mother and wish to protect the lands of Azeroth. High Chieftain Carine Bloodhoof led the Tauren during the third war. Under his leadership, all the Tauren tribes are united. Carine is older and wise. He used his wisdom to lead his tribe.

When Thrall and his New Horde made landfall in Kalimdor, they soon came across Carine and his people. They were driving a caravan through Kalimdor as they headed to Mulgore. The Tauren were having problems with the maundering centaurs which threatened their lands. Carine was determined to lead his people to a safe place.

Cairne met Thrall when he and his Horde protected a Tauren from a centaur. The old chieftain was impressed by the Orcs battle prowess and nobility. So, Cairne told Thrall about an Oracle who was nearby in Stonetalon Mountains.

The Oracle told Thrall, Cairne, and Jaina Proudmoore that they must work together because the Burning Legion was a great threat. Together, the three were able to free Grom Hellscream from his corruption, and they fought the Legion. Cairne pledged his race’s loyalty to the Horde

Both the Orcs and Tauren races had a strong connection to shamanism, and Carine was excited to share that knowledge with the Horde. The Tauren settled down in the grassy plains of Mulgore and established their city Thunder Bluff high atop the pillars to protect it from the centaurs.

    Trolls

    alt="classic wow beginners guide trolls"/>

During Vanilla WoW, the Darkspear Trolls are lead by Shadow Hunter Vol’jin. The trolls are a superstitious race, and they worship spirits called Loa. These spirits show them visions of what’s to come.

During Warcraft III, Thrall first encounters the Darkspear tribe on Darkspear Island after he escaped from Lordaeron. Back then, the Darkspear tribe was led by Witch Doctor Sen’jin, who was Vol’jin’s father. Thrall was followed by Kul Tiran marines. The humans created a settlement on the island, so the Trolls moved inland to avoid fighting.

Sen’jin had seen a vision, and he sent his people to find Thrall. A Murloc high sorcerer found Sen’jin and sacrificed him to a sea witch. By the time Thrall reached the Troll leader, Sen’jin was dying. He asked Thrall to take his people from the island and save them.

To repay Thrall for saving their people, Vol’jin pledged their loyalty to the Horde. So the Trolls fought alongside the Orcs against the Burning Legion. After the Third War, they made a home on the Echo Isles in Durotar.

    Forsaken (Undead)

alt="classic wow beginners guide the undercity"/>

Lady Sylvanas Windrunner is the leader of the Forsaken. She was once a High Elf from the Kingdom of Quel’Thelas. When the Death Knight Arthas ransacked her kingdom, he killed her and raised her from the dead as a banshee.

Sylvanas eventually broke free from his control, and she found her body. She then rounded up other undead and freed them from Arthas’s mind control.

Not long after, Arthas murdered his father, King Terenas of Lordaeron. Arthas then killed the citizens within the capital of Lordaeron. He set them loose on the rest of the kingdom as mindless minions of the undead scourge. They then murdered everyone in their wake.

So, Sylvanas worked with some of the undead in Lordaeron to liberate the kingdom from the scourge. They created a home underneath the Ruins of Lordaeron and named it The Undercity.

The Forsaken knew they needed allies in a hostile world, so they sent emissaries to the Horde. But, although some of the Tauren, such as Archdruid Hammul Runetotem, were willing to give them the benefit of the doubt, many others in the Horde, like Thrall and Cairne, were suspicious of the Forsaken’s motives. Thrall eventually granted the Forsaken entry into the Horde as an alliance of convenience.

    alt="affiliate disclosure with I"/>

Hi guys! This is part one of the final post in the WoW Classic Beginners guide. In this post, I’ll be covering the Alliance lore (story). If you have more questions please leave them in the comments.

Classic WoW begins after the events of Warcraft III (the Third War). The end of the third war brought about four years of peace. As you can imagine it didn’t take long for that peace to shatter.

The human kingdom Lordaeron fell in the third war. So, Stormwind, which had just rebuilt its city, took up the mantle to lead the Alliance, which the Night Elves from Kalimdor joined. The Night Elves problems were with the Orcish Horde which had settled in Durotar. Basically, the Orcs were camping in the Night Elves backyard.

So, let’s get into the meat of the story.

    The Drums of War: Alliance

    alt="stormwind"/>

Four years after the third war ended, the drums of war thundered once again.

By the beginning of Vanilla WoW, the Horde and the Alliance are in a cold war. After the Battle for Mount Hyjal, where the factions stopped Archimonde from destroying the world tree, Nordrassil, the Horde and Alliance formed an agreement for peace. But, the pact was weak and began to crumble. Soon the factions engaged in skirmishes in designated battlegrounds.

    WoW Classic Beginners Guide: Humans

alt="wow classic beginners guide valley of hereos"/>

During the first war, the Kingdom of Stormwind was destroyed by the savage Orcish Horde. The brutish Orcs barreled through the Dark Portal and laid waste to the land. Nothing but destruction laid in the wake of the Orcs. Survivors traveled north to take refuge in the human Kingdom of Lordaeron, which became the center for the Alliance of Lordaeron.

Stormwind rebuilt its city after the third war. But, during the third war, the Kingdom of Lordaeron fell to the undead scourge. As a result, Stormwind led the Alliance.

The kingdom faced problems though because King Varian Wrynn had gone missing on a diplomatic mission. His son, Prince Anduin Wrynn, became king instead. Anduin was only a child. So, the day-to-day governing affairs weren’t handled by him. Highlord Bolvar Fordragon and Lady Katrana Prestor served as regents.

What the residents of Stormwind didn’t know, is that Lady Katrana Prestor was the black dragon Onyxia in disguise. She purposefully caused chaos by whispering in the ears of the nobles. As a result, Stormwind’s streets faced riots because the Defias Brotherhood (Stonemasons Guild) was being denied payment for honest work. Lady Prestor also plotted with the Defias Brotherhood to kidnap the king.

The Defias Brotherhood helped to rebuild Stormwind. They didn’t receive the compensation they deserved. So, the Defias Gang led by Edwin VanCleef were out for revenge. He took his gang and moved into Westfall, where they took refuge in the Deadmines.

As a result of the Alliance troops fighting wars on distant shores, the Kingdom of Stormwind was unable to stop VanCleef from causing problems throughout the kingdom. Which is why the residents of Westfall created The People’s Militia to fight the threat.

    WoW Classic Beginners Guide: Dwarves

alt="wow classic beginners guide the great forge"/>

During the Classic, the Kingdom of Ironforge was led by King Magni Bronzebeard. Ironforge city is located in the snowy mountains of Dun Morogh. It’s a city built within the mountainside. The dwarves joined the Alliance of Lordaeron during the second war. It was to protect Ironforge from the Orcish horde, which had invaded Azeroth through the Dark Portal.

After the third war, the Bronzebeard clan lived in Ironforge. There are three Dwarven clans, Bronzebeard, Wildhammer, and Dark Iron. They have divided about 230 years ago during the War of the Three Hammers.

But, the Dark Iron dwarfs are the main enemy to the other clans. During the War of Three Hammers, the Dark Iron clan tried to take Ironforge from the Bronzebeard clan and the Wildhammer clan. Eventually, the war ended, and the Dark Iron clan was kicked out of the mountain city. Their clan headed south. Then they created a city in Redridge Mountains.

The War of the Three Hammers was brutal. Once the war concluded, the Wildhammer clan settled in the Wetlands. Wildhammer dwarfs share a special bond with griffins, and today provide them for the Alliance. After the third war, however, the Wildhammer’s weren’t in the Alliance, but they were friendly to its members. The clan was on good terms with the Bronzebeard clan.

Dwarves Continued: After the War of the Three Hammers

Years later, the Dark Iron clan did a two-pronged assault on the Bronzebeard and Wildhammer clans. The Dark Iron dwarves succeeded in destroying Grim Batol, which is the city the Wildhammers had built in the eastern Wetlands. But, the assault on Grim Batol made the city uninhabitable, and that’s when the Wildhammer clan moved north to Aerie Peak.

In Vanilla (classic) WoW, King Magni’s daughter, Moira, is assumed to be kidnapped by Dagran Thaurissan, the leader of the Dark Iron dwarves. Also, Magni’s brother Muradin Bronzebeard was missing, as it was believed he’d been murdered by Arthas Menethil (Prince of Lordaeron) during the third war.

    WoW Classic Beginners Guide: Gnomes

alt="wow classic beginners guide tinker town"/>

Gnomes are engineers. They’re always tinkering with new machines, and innovating new ideas. The gnomes are led by High Tinker Gelbin Mekkatorque. He refers to himself as “King of Gnomes” but his position is an elected one.

The gnomes joined the Alliance of Lordaeron in the second war and provided the Alliance with weapons and machinery. So, the gnomes weren’t really on the front lines back then.

Their city, Gnomergan is underground in Dun Morogh. It was taken over by a trogg infestation during the third war. The dwarves felt sorry for their gnomish neighbors, and King Magni invited them to live in Ironforge.

Mekkatorque’s best friend and advisor, Sicco Thermaplugg, convinced him to gas the Troggs out of Gnomergan. However, the plan backfired and many gnomes were poisoned and became Leper gnomes. The gas turned Thermaplugg crazy, and he stayed within Gnomergan as a shadow of his former self.

Thermaplugg had always been jealous of his old friend. His secret plans to gain control came out once the gnomes moved into Ironforge. He’d planned to only gas about 30% of Gnomergan and rule the rest. However, the plan was a disaster as about 80% of the gnomish population died in the city.

Now, High Tinker Mekkatorque is determined to reclaim Gnomergan for his people.

    Night Elves

alt="wow classic beginners guide night elves"/>

The ancient Night Elves are from the continent of Kalimdor. They can also be referred to as Kaldorei which translates to “Children of the Stars” in Darnassian. Led by the High Priestess of Elune, Tyrande Whisperwind, the Night Elves have existed for thousands of years. During the third war, the Night Elves joined the Alliance to stop the Burning Legion.

About 10,000 years ago, when Azeroth was only one continent called Kalimdor, the Burning Legion (an army of demons) were attracted to Azeroth because of the Highborne’s use of magic. Highborne elves were like nobles in the Night Elven society. They practiced the arcane arts (magic) and drew power from the Well of Eternity.

Queen Azshara ruled over the Night Elven empire. She was said to be the most beautiful elven woman, and Azshara was also one of the most powerful mages. The queen wanted more power, and eventually made a pact with the Burning Legion. Many of the Highborne elves, including Lord Xavius her high councilor, pledged allegiance to the Legion.

But, the queen’s actions led to the War of the Ancients. The conclusion of the war saw the Well of Eternity being destroyed. The destruction of the well was so great, it caused the Sundering, which ripped the continent of Kalimdor apart, and left a chaotic swirling mass of water in the ocean called the Maelstrom. Queen Azshara and her city, Zin’Azshari, were swept away in an enormous tsunami, which killed millions of her people.

Night Elves Continued: After the Sundering

Azshara made a new deal with the Old God, N’Zoth, so that she and her followers would be spared from the drowning. N’Zoth made her a sea creature called a naga, and she ruled the sea for 10,000 years.

After the War of the Ancients, the Night Elven society began to break apart. Some of the Highborne still resided in Kalimdor, but the rest of the Night Elves didn’t trust them. It was illegal in Night Elven society to use the arcane, and Malfurion Stormrage (Tyrande’s husband), was a druid who enforced the law. Night Elven society turned toward nature, which caused druidism to become popular.

Eventually, the remaining Highborne, led by Anasterian Sunstrider, sailed across the sea, until they reached the Eastern Kingdoms and the continent of Lordaeron. The elves who settled in Lordaeron became known as High Elves.

In the Burning Crusade expansion, those same High Elves joined the Horde and renamed themselves Blood Elves. But, during Vanilla (classic wow) some of the High Elves were still in the Alliance. As the original High Elves had joined the Alliance of Lordaeron during the second war.

As for the Night Elves, they joined the Alliance during the third war. Tyrande Whisperwind and Fandral Staghelm were leading the elves because Tyrande’s husband was sleeping within the Emerald Dream. All Druids must sleep within the Emerald Dream to preserve the natural world.

But, once Malfurion was asleep, he became trapped in the Emerald Nightmare. This meant that Fandral Staghelm became the Archdruid of Darnassus. Most of the Night Elves were loyal to Tyrande, but a few followed Fandral and his aggressive military views, which led to strife within the kingdom.

  • New Character Models for WoW Patch 8.2.5

New Character Models for WoW Patch 8.2.5

    alt="affiliate disclosure with I"/>

Hi guys! Wowhead datamined juicy new Blizzard character models a few days ago for patch 8.2.5. But, PCGamesn.com posted screenshots from the ChinaJoy 2019 convention where Blizzard released new character models for Warcraft III: Reforged.

When we receive new character models for WoW I’m excited. It’s a chance for Blizzard to re-imagine a character in a way we haven’t seen.

    So, let’s get into it!

Don’t forget to subscribe to my mailing list! Be the first to know when Warcraftlover has new content.

    New Character Models for WoW

    Wrathion: HOT DAMN!

alt="Wration the black prince photo from wowhead new character models for wow"/>

    Photo of Wrathion from wowhead.com

Okay, for the first new character models for wow, I’ve got to begin with what everyone has been talking about. Wrathion has done puberty right y’all, and he’s only five years old. When I saw his new model my first thought was how come we can’t design our own characters like this? But, I digress.

Wrathion reminds me of the Prince of Persia a little bit. He’s got less bling then he used too, but the look is sophisticated and clean. Honestly, I’ve been missing the Black Prince, and I’m excited to see what the black dragon has been up too.

Overall, it’s a great look and I love it.

    5 stars!

    Calia Menethil

alt="photo of calia menethil from wowhead.com new wow character models for wow"/>

    Photo of Calia from wowhead.com

Calia is Arthas Menethil’s older sister. She’s the first undead character touched by the light in the game. Her model looks really good, and I’m excited to see what implications her existence will have on the lore.

I wasn’t expecting Calia’s new character models for WoW to look this cool but I love it. Will this mean the Alliance will have undead in its ranks now? Or, will the Forsaken choose to ally themselves with Calia instead of Sylvannas? Either way, the possibilities are endless.

    5 stars!

    Valeera Sanguinar

alt="photo of valeera sanguinaar from wowhead.com new character models for wow"/>

    Photo of Valeera from wowhead.com

Valeera was friends with Varian Wrynn. They met during the time he’d been kidnapped and trained as a gladiator. She’s a blood elf rogue who plays a double agent, and we last saw her when she provided the information that Baine wanted to meet Jaina in Theramore.

I love the red in her outfit. I’m not so sure about the shoulder pads though. It seems as if they would get stuck in the doorway, but overall Valeera still has a really awesome look.

    4 stars!

    Zekhan

alt="photo of Zekhan from wowhead.com new character models for wow"/>

    Photo of Zekhan from wowhead.com

Now, for the final new character model for WoW I’ve got to talk about Zekhan. We saw Zekhan in the Old Soldier Cinematic. He reminded Saurfang why it’s important to keep fighting another day, and he aids Saurfang after his escape from Stormwind. The jungle troll looks really good in this model. I’m excited to see what plans Blizzard has in store for the character.

    4 stars!

New Character Models for WoW: Warcraft III

    Thrall

alt="new photo of Thrall from pcgamesn.com new character models for wow"/>

    Photo of Thrall from pcgamesn.com

Warchief Thrall was the leader of the New Orcish Horde in Warcraft III. After the Prophet Medivh, told him about the threat of the Burning Legion, he took his troops and sailed to the ancient lands of Kalimdor to face the threat.

Thrall looks so much better here than he did before. I played the original Warcraft III as a child. This design for Thrall is much cleaner, and I love it very much. It makes me much more excited to get my hands on this game.

    5 stars!

    Tyrande Whisperwind

alt="photo of Tyrande Whisperwind from pcgamesn.com new character models for wow"/>

    Photo of Tyrande from pcgamesn.com

High Priestess Tyrande Whisperwind led the Night Elves in Warcraft III. At first, she attacked the Orcs for hurting her ancestral lands, but soon she set aside her differences to save the world of Azeroth from the larger threat of the Burning Legion.

Check out how gorgeous Tyrande looks. This model of her is much cleaner. She’s always had a pretty character design, and this Warcraft III version shows that a lot better. I’m really happy with the way this design turned out.

    5 stars!

    Archmage Antonidas

alt="photo of Archmage Antonidas from Warcraft III new character models for wow"/>

    Photo of Antonidas from pcgamesn.com

Archmage Antonidas was the ruler of Dalaran and the Kirin Tor. He was Jaina Proudmoore’s teacher. Sadly, Arthas murdered the great Archmage during Warcraft III, and now a memorial rests in Dalaran to this day in Antonidas honor.

This model of the great Archmage is well done. I’m really impressed with the way Warcraft III: Reforged is looking. I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy to review the game. It’ll take me right back to my childhood.

    4 stars!

    It’s almost time for Classic

    Chapter 1: The Hunter’s Path

“Dun Morogh is freezing,” General John Clark said.

The Alliance general was clothed in a tunic and breeches. He wasn’ wearing his plate armor or carrying aroun’ his mace today. The paladin was underdressed.

He rubbed his hands over his muscled arms as he shivered. Unlike my companion, me attire was best suited for the mountains, as a result, I was dressed in accented green mail and furs.

We stood outside Thunderbrew Distillery in Kharanos as a chilly breeze rushed by. Dun Morogh is frosty year roun’ and I’m sure long’ uns like humans aren’t used to such a frigid place.

“Yeh should’ve bought ya’ mitts with yeh in the first place, laddie. But, ya should know better than to visit Dun Morogh without the proper garments,” I joked.

The general raised his eyebrows and laughed. I knocked the snow out of me long beard. Me flamin’ red hair has always shone nicely against the snowy backdrop of Dun Morogh.

Our boots crunched in the snow, as we walked past the three large kegs, and up the icy stone steps to enter the bustlin’ tavern.

Dwarves and gnomes mingled within. Laughter rang off the stone walls, which were decorated with guns, boar heads, and blue and gold Alliance shields. The delicious aroma of Beer-Basted Boar ribs nudged me nostrils. I took a huge sniff and grinned, as I imagined the tender meat falling off the bone.

Me animal companion, a spectral bear named, Kyrel, trotted beside us as we walked by tables and bar patrons. His body is wispy and shimmers in and out of the spirit world.

“The tavern is busier than usual,” Kyrel said, as a result, his thoughts were a gentle tug within my mind.

“Aye, it sure is busy today. Maybe there’s a special going on we missed.” I thought. – The Hunter’s Path

Dwarves laughed and talked loudly to their friends. Several high-pitched gnome voices could be heard over the crowd. One dwarf was red in the face as a result of drinkin.’ He downed another tankard and slammed it on the table.

But, at least tha’ sweet lass, Merida is workin’ the bar. She’s always bin’ a particular treat on the eyes. I thought.

We took a seat at the table in front of the hearth. Kyrel laid down beside the table. The roaring fire warmed me bones. General John sighed as he held his hands to the flames as they crackled merrily.

I laid me gun, Modimus, besides my chair, it had golden accents and had been a gift from me father, passed down through the generations of Goldhammers. Apparently, me father claimed we’re distant relatives of Modimus Anvilmar. Who knows if it’s true? Then again me father said lots when he was drunk off his arse.

The bar maiden, Merida, approached the table. Her smile was bright, and her blue eyes held warmth.

“Interest yeh in a pint?” Merida said.

She poured each of us a pint o’ ale. I gave the lass a wink, and she giggled and winked back. She left our table with her hair and hips swayin’. The general took a swig, then he laid down his tankard and clapped my back.

“As a matter of fact, Alz, you’re a good dwarf. The Alliance would be lost without you, hunter.”

I waved away his compliment. He held up his cuppa’ and clinked it against mine. After he took a sip, then the general frowned and tilted his head, noticing I hadn’t taken a sip of me drink.

World of Warcraft Chronicle Volume 3

“I thought all dwarfs loved to drink?” John said. – The Hunter’s Path

“Me father was an alcoholic. He woulda’ beat me mother blue whenever he entered one of his rages, and I always regretted I couldn’ protect my mother then, it’s why I’m so loyal to the Alliance now, it gives me the ability to provide. Me mother will never want for nothin’. So, I vowed ta save me drinkin’ for Brewfest and special occasions.”

“I understand that perfectly. You don’t want to make the same mistakes as your father. It’s an honorable feeling.” John’s blue eyes softened as he nodded.

“So, I heard the King o’ Stormwind is sendin’ troops to retake Lordaeron for the Alliance?” I laid down me tankard and leaned forward ready to hear this tale.

John nodded solemnly, then took another swig of his ale and sighed.

“I’m sure you heard about The Burning of Teldrassil?” he said.

“Oh, yes, I’ve heard. We lost too many good Night Elven men and women tha’ day. Tha’ banshee witch, Sylvannas, needs ta’ rot in a proper grave.” I scowled and pounded the table.

“Truly, the King of Stormwind agrees with you. He may be calling on you soon to perform a task for him. You’ve proven your worth as a Champion of the Alliance, and he trusts you.”

“After the mistake, I made in Argus he still trusts me?” I gulped and glanced away.

Me gaze rested on Kyrel who slumbered soundly by my feet. I lowered my hand ta his form and gently brushed his spectral fur. Kyrel draws from me energy ta manifest in a physical form.

“The King isn’t concerned about a small error. He’s seen your track record. You’ve fought in the second and third wars. Notably, there’s no other champion who’s braved the Lich King and the Broken Shore, lived to tell about it and is still as humble as you.”

I waved away his compliment again.

“Yeh flatters a dwarf too much, anyway I’ll be awaitin’ the king’s message. If he’s got a quest for me, I’ll be ready.”

    alt="classic wow pre-launch test"/>

“If he’s got a quest for me, I’ll be ready.” – The Hunter’s Path

The tavern shook as a large blast rocketed outside.

“What in the blazes?” General John said as he stood.

I scowled and armed me gun. Bar patrons huddled in corners and covered their heads with shaking arms.

“Schist! Those mangy Dark Iron Dwarves are at it again. We shoulda’ never allowed them ta return ta Ironforge,” I said.

I gave Kyrel a pat and me companion yawned loudly. The bear stood and trotted behind me and General John as we walked out of the tavern.

Dark Iron Dwarves were spilling out of their drills in waves. Their eyes blazed like fire, as they slashed their axes, and gleefully attacked screaming residents of Kharanos.

Shelby Stoneflint the stable master in Kharanos ran forward waving her arms to grab me attention. She’s been a close friend for years, and she’s great with tending me, animal companions.

Her red hair flowed behind her, and her golden armor glimmered in the sun. The lass pointed a shaky finger to bomber planes headin’ ta the hills behind Ironforge.

“Alzéanz, Moira has taken the city. The Dark Iron clan is settin’ the surroundin’ villages on fire.”

“I swear by my forge they’ve seen their last day. No Dark Iron Dwarf is taken’ Ironforge under me watch.”

I turned ta General John who wasn’t dressed for battle. He gave me a sympathetic shrug.

“My hands are tied here, old friend. Seeing that I don’t even have my mace. Do what you have to do. I’ll see you around.”

He clapped me on the back, and then the general rushed inside the tavern.

“Let’s go, Kyrel, Ironforge needs us.”

My spirit bear companion nudged me hand. His thoughts flitted through me mind like a gentle breeze.

“We’ll put a stop to this. Don’t worry!” Kyrel thought

“I’ll teach those dirty Dark Iron Dwarves not to mess with the Bronzebeard clan,” I responded. – The Hunter’s Path

Shelby screamed as a Dark Iron pyromancer, wearing a dark purple robe and blazing orange eyes, shot a fireball at her. The fireball grazed her chest. I gasped as she crumbled to the ground. Everythin’ happened so fast since I wasn’t lookin.’

I scowled and aimed me trusty rifle at the Dark Iron.

    “Shelby,” I said.

Kyrel roared like a savage beast and stood on his hind legs. He bared his teeth and then rushed to the dwarf, where he swiped at the Dark Iron scum with his large spectral paws.

The dwarf yelled as deadly cuts appeared on his face, and droplets of blood decorated the snow around his feet. Therefore, I fired a hail of bullets at the cretin until he fell to the ground, thus soaking the snow with glistening blood.

I hurried forward and kneeled on the ground by Shelby’s side. Her face was scrunched in pain, as she writhed in the snow. She clutched her chest where a burn mark rested on her clothes and stained her shirt with blood. Kyrel joined us and laid his head on her chest. Shelby glowed and I shielded me eyes from the sharp light.

When the light vanished, Shelby blinked and rubbed her chest, because the burn wound was gone, and so was the stain. She wrapped her arms around Kyrel and gave me companion a hug.

“Oh, thank ya, you’re such a sweet bear, Kyrel. I can also see why yeh and Alz get along so well.”

I held out a hand, and Shelby grasped it to stand. She landed in me chest, and my heart skipped a beat. We hurriedly stepped back. Her face was a fiery red, and mine was warm. I’m sure me face was bright as me beard. Shelby looked away and knocked snow off her bottom.

    “Thank you too, Alz.”

“Don’ mention it, but keep yerself out of trouble, lass,” I smiled.

10% off your purchase with code LNK10. Excludes clearance.

“I’m not as stubborn and reckless as yeh, Alz. I know how ta stay out of trouble.” – The Hunter’s Path

Shelby winked and walked toward the tavern entrance. Then I chuckled and beckoned for Kyrel to follow me as we ran toward Ironforge. The majestic city jutted from the mountainside.

Dark Iron’s were drillin’ their way through Dun Morogh, and our bomber pilots were layin’ down sweet revenge. Ironforge loomed closer as we approached the bridge.

By Muradin’s beard, this is crazy! The Dark Iron dwarves planned this surprise attack out of nowhere. Wha’ do Moira think she’s playin’ at? The lass has lost her mind.

Kyrel’s welcoming presence brushed my mind as we ran. “Moira is bitter with her father. You know Magni was misguided in believing a woman could never rule Ironforge. Now, I fear that mistake is coming back to haunt all of us.”

I dodged a fireball, and it singed a tree behind me. Kyrel roared and knocked the pyromancer to the ground, where his blood created a pool around his head.

“You’re right about that, laddie. After all, this wasn’t the hunter’s path I thought I’d be walkin’ today. I hope we can save Ironforge before she’s blasted ta the ground.”

Classic WoW Pre-Launch Test and Interview

    alt="affiliate disclosure with I"/>

Hi guys! Blizzard posted a message on their forums for the Classic WoW Pre-launch test. The test will begin on Thursday, August 8th at 11:00 AM PDT and will end on Friday, August 9th.

All World of Warcraft players with a current subscription or game time can participate. Players can level their characters to level 15. Blizzard is asking players to log in for the first two hours so they can test the game for launch issues.

Are you excited to participate in the Classic WoW pre-launch test? Leave a comment with your thoughts.

This week the fandom also received an awesome interview from Eurogamer.net about Classic WoW. Lead software engineer, Brian Birmingham, and senior software engineer Omar Gonzalez were interviewed.

Don’t forget to hit that subscribe button! Be the first to know about the latest Warcraft news and content.

    Classic WoW is Coming

    alt="classic wow pre-launch test"/>

Now that we’ve covered the Classic WoW pre-launch test, let’s get into the interview by Eurogamer.net.

The interview began with Brian and Omar discussing the epic end of the beta. The Firelord was spawned in both Stormwind and Orgrimmar. The giant Firelord rained down fire and brimstone on the players littering the ground with fresh corpses. By spawning Ragnoros, they wanted to recreate the feeling of a small community from the early days, and they wanted to give the players an experience they’d never forget.

I remember during Wrath that WoW still had a sense of community. Players would offer me a helping hand as I attempted to complete difficult quests. Some players would just stop and say hello. I even remember players from the opposing faction waving at me in a friendly manner, as they assisted me in killing a boss. It was also common for players to cast a buff on you which would raise your stats.

Game masters were more prevalent in the game. If you had a problem, a game master would find your location and make sure you were okay. There were also famous game master jokes, most were corny but fun. I miss that sense of community, and I’m excited to see it return in Classic WoW.

Player habits can change over 15 years. The interviewer, Robert Purchase, asked Omar and Brian if they’ve noticed any differences in player habits. They emphasized player enthusiasm. The developers were happy to see players exploring the world, interacting with other players, and choosing to play the game late into the night.

Classic WoW Pre-launch Test: Interview Continued

    alt="classic wow pre-launch test faerie circle"/>

Classic WoW will have six phases of content. This is exciting news because we’ll be able to experience Vanilla the way it was when Blizzard rolled out content.

Layering is a controversial issue in Classic WoW. When you experience layering in retail WoW, it’ll be as if you’re on a different layer of your server. So even if you and a friend log in at the same time, you may not see each other. You can read about layering (sharding) in Classic WoW.

Brian said that Blizzard was testing the feature. So the levels of layering on the beta were lower so Blizzard could test it. Layering helps to control the population on a server so we experience less trouble while playing.

They weren’t sure if Classic WoW would have long ques. It depends on how many people show up. I remember waiting in long ques in Wrath. It was exciting and frustrating to wait for 30 minutes or more, but when I got on the game it was so worth it.

Dalaran was always packed during Wrath. The lag was terrible though. I’d be running through the majestic streets of the magical city, with its tall purple spires, and my game would just freeze.

One of the most exciting aspects of the interview was how Blizzard is dealing with the Classic launch. Classic WoW is being treated as important as a new expansion. All hands will be on deck. Omar said they’re going to be set up like a NASA mission control room. Just imagining that has me pumped to play Classic. 8.2.5 PTR Notes

Besides WoW’s 15th Anniversary, we’re also receiving more goodies in patch 8.2.5. The Alliance will finally get the Bee Mount. It was announced at BlizzCon 2018. The secret to unlocking the mount wasn’t known during BlizzCon, but it’ll most likely involve a quest line as patch 8.2 had several bee-related quests.

We’ll be able to relive The Firelands in Cataclysm time walking. Blizzard is also implementing party sync, which will allow high-level players to queue for dungeons with low-level players. There will also be a “replay” option so that everyone can do the same quest, even if one member of the party has already completed it.

Party sync is an exciting edition, especially because the Recruit A Friend bonus is making a return. This time Recruit A Friend can also be used to recruit old WoW players. Each month your friend subscribes to the game gives you more rewards like mounts and pets.

Worgen and Goblins are finally receiving model updates. The update includes their looks and animations. Both races will also be getting their heritage armor.
